Aston Villa had a good opportunity in hand to capture the 2nd position and get 4 points behind Arsenal at the same time. But they wasted it very generously. 

I don't know how they didn't manage to score in a game which they played better than their opponent. Everton somehow secured a 1-0 win away...

I don't really know why many of these clubs we thought they are going to perform well and have more point with an easy wins are falling by the side. Aston Villa is a great club we all thought could over take Manchester City and Arsenal looking at the way they were playing but it was unfortunate to see that both Aston Villa, Manchester City and Arsenal is falling aside.

This was a surprising one and truly speaking, we do not expect this win from the Manchester United team. I was very surprised though as they got a win with a clean sheet against Manchester City, a team that is doing well and to Manchester United that has not been doing well this season. Well this is football and trust me, in football anything can easily happen, and here it is, Manchester United bringing down Manchester City to a lost was another side of one of the early carrick's story.

Sacking of Ruben Amorim bringing new energy and motivation to players and their performance is also looking much better while Michael Carrick is having good experience of understanding the dressing room and other fundamentals of Manchester United, this helps him for having better environment for the players to perform well.

This game is going to be having good impact on their season and consistency because now they are going to face leaders Arsenal at Emirates Stadium, and they will be surely playing much better and organized which helped them for having good result against Gunners which is now having 2 draws and 2 games without scoring any goal in premier league.

There is nothing that is happening in the league now that we can say that it is something we feel can never happen. as a matter of fact, from the current way the table looks like it is kind of balance because the top three teams especially are the ones that started very well and have managed to keep the tempo high till twenty second week of the game. This season has shown right from time that it is arsenal that is going home with the cup. so far, though they sometimes shows an act of inconsistency, they still remained the most dominance and consistent and have the higher chance of winning the league even far more than others

Michael Carricks has shown himself to be a very good coach in this few matches that he has managed as interim manager . But for pep and his boys I don't know what is the problem with Manchester City this season dropping points so easily they are playing to the advantage of Arsenal with the way that they are going.

City mess up and United were the victor. Michael Carrick continues on where he stopped but we wonder if he cam continues with the form of his.

Arsenal is definitely winning this.

city's loss gave arsenal an opportunity that I didn't know they would let go of, I'm not a big fan of Arsenal with how far they have come i really want them to win the league at this point because they deserve it...after city lost i just assumed that Arsenal would give that game rheur best but they didn't even put in any effort and it was really disappointing...Their next match will probably be better than this.

Arsenal is not playing like a team that want to win the premier league title, i expected them to win forest since Man united has help them to win Man city which would have been a big opportunity for them to give Man city more point gap in the league table if they had just win struggling Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal next match in the premier league is against Man united did you think that they will preform more better against Man united than their previous match with Nottingham Forest? I don't think so it won't be an easy match for them despite it will be played at the Emirate stadium, Man united have a new coach now who just won Man city i believe he will also want to do the same to Arsenal the best result that arsenal can get in that match is draw.

Arsenal are not taking this league seriously, if not they could have been leading by almost 10 points. They keep wasting opportunities . The luck they have this season is that Liverpool and Manchester City are not doing themselves this season, if not they would have topped the league. I watched yesterday match and I am still day dreaming on how Manchester United played the hell out of Manchester City.  It was as if Manchester City were a small team yesterday. I think they only had one shot on target. Manchester United played beautifully in both halves. The players were calm and bold , but  nevertheless I won't use  just one game to predict their outcome in remaining games.

They are lucky that Man city is not also consistent this season and i don't think if Arsenal can win the title, Arsenal will be playing Man united this weekend while Man city will take on wolves who is at the bottom of the table and this is a match that i believe Man city will win, if Arsenal can't win Man united this weekend the point gap will be four that's if Man united wins Arsenal and Man city wins wolves, Arsenal had a lot of opportunities to increase their points gap in the last two weeks if they had won chelsea snd also Nottingham Forest in their last match.

Emery says this but he is just humble honestly. They are definitely contenders to be in top 5. Who is better than them now? Manchester United? Liverpool? Or Chelsea? None of them is having a better season.

Anyway, beating Man City with a good score wasn't something easy a few seasons ago. And now they have done it. So just let all the fans celebrate the victory of their beloved team. As for consistency in the next few matches, let everything run as it should. But beating Man City is a victory that they have already proven.

As a United fan I celebrated the win like it was a trophy because at least history has it that when Manchester United was struggling to be consistent they defeated Manchester City and stopped them from closing gaps with Arsenal. The team should be focused on working on the team performance if they can improve and approach other matches with full confidence they can become consistent. The road to the champions League next season depends on their performance the position of the team is one thing that should make them to do better in their up coming games.

I also saw it on social media, how United fans seemed quite satisfied with their team's performance against Man City. That victory completed the winning spree. Whether with a trophy or not, we saw that the fans were truly celebrating. We don't yet know if they can be consistent or not, but what we can see is the moment of joy from the fans.

I'm feeling T.Frank is just getting closer from being sacked by Spurs. 5 games without win in the new year. It's absolutely terrible result, and i believe it's not what board wanted from him. I know the latest news said he's still leading the game against BVB in UCL, but it may be his last game if his team keeps losing.
This is how Spurs does spurs thing. Sacking manager, sign a new one, then sack again after months. At this point the win against BVB is the only thing that can save his job.

Apart from that i've heard Spurs fans are moaning T.Frank out! The pressure for him is just getting bigger, and almost coming to its end.

I wouldn't really call them rivals because if you compare how both teams play Manchester City is actually better but for some reasons  Manchester United always wins city and i don't know why.

When a manager says this about his team he definitely knows what he his talking about, I will tell you this they might be doing better than the clubs you listed out but you will see where they will be at when the season ends. Aston villa are a good side but they are still not in the big 5 in the league. We still have over a dozen of match to watch in the league and after that we can talk about how good of a season they have had.

We saw Enzo maresca making such claims about Chelsea last season, saying the team is not in the title race, and when the season ended we saw Chelsea struggling to get a top 4. Managers know their team better and they would tell you what their team is capable of.

Though we all witnessed a very disappointing performance from the top three teams of which we didn't expect such performance from them it's was quite a pity, but that aside if we should check all top five leagues across Europe you will get to see that most of the leading teams actually under performed like those weekends games was just so confusing and I didn't expect it that way, but I will only urge Arsenal and Aston Villa to hold on tight because I don't want Manchester City to win the English premier League title this season again it will definitely look embarrassing to the English premier League, I just want either Arsenal or Villa to win that trophy.

Every big club disappointed during the weekend and It was really unexpected, starting from Arsenal to Aston villa and also Mancester city as well...this is what makes the premier league unpredictable most atimes...arsenal had a good start but when it is close to achieving what they have been fighting for from the beginning of the season they are starting to slow down, I hope they improve on their next game

Aston Villa finished sixth in the league last season, and fourth in the previous two seasons. This season, they are currently third in the league. Given their record last season, I personally see them as having the potential to compete even further.

However, the question is whether they have a chance to prove it. I think that will be a debate, because even though they are in that position due to other teams' underperformance, they can still prove they can capitalize on the declining performance of teams that are usually in the top four.
