Found about GingerWallet after seeing the signature campaign at services board, and to be honest this seems to be a great project without any doubt. It's true a new way for the ones who prefer anonymity and privacy of their coins. One should read the terms and conditions before using it.

Almost 2 hours and I am around 78% so yeah hopefully it will be synced in the next hour or so.

I got almost 3 hours of waiting (I think it's 2 hrs. and 45 mins.) and it successfully running my own node now.

But it makes me confused here, when you say you're connected to the node it should be there's green color dot, isn't it?

When the sync finishes, it doesn't mean that you 're running a node. In order to run a bitcoin node, you need much more than 3hrs of waiting because it downloads all the transactions from block 0.

Actually I said that I 've connected Ginger wallet to a Bitcoin Core instance (bitcoin node) that I run on the same device.

Have a look at this:



If you run Bitcoin Core, then Ginger wallet will communicate with it using the port 8333.

If you don't run Bitcoin Core, it's still not a problem, it will work either way.

This is what I've actually done without asking questions or checking here, lol. Because it is always in my mind (based on my past experience) that TOR connections always takes slower than without it. It only takes 10-15 20 minutes (without the app crashing lol) before the wallet syncs on my part , then enable TOR again after the sync.

I am not yet explore for more but what I did is just download from the site until its done. Then I installed but it needs for sometime until it finish, but I guess the software download some files needed to completed.

After the installation is done, I see a message like @apogio explain appear and I just click what it needs and everything is done. I forgot to screenshot what I did so maybe you confuse about that. Maybe later I will explore the software to know more.

While downloading the wallet to post the address from wallet which is the required format for signature campaign application, I noticed a bug not sure if it's been mentioned already, but I faced just recently so it's not resolved and it should be.

What's the bug?

Create new wallet => 12 words recovery seed page => selecting the 12 words in order (only 11 were words shown), so, it not possible to enter the words manually by ourselves I had to give couple of tries before finally getting the 12 words even though I downloaded it successfully it needs attention.

OK, i came here to actually find out or get some information on this, I installed the wallet and was expecting to get my bitcoin address immediately 😁, realized the sync will have to complete before I get my bitcoin deposit address, I've been waiting for the process to complete for more than 45 minutes now, almost an hour, the sync runs fast a bit and then slows down, and sometimes, it's on standstill without any form of progress, I am on my normal connection too, kind of frustrating but have no choice but to wait for the process to complete.

We are in the same situation. After I checked Ginger wallet setting, that is a default setting that I have in my Ginger wallet after I downloaded the software. Yes, the process to complete takes time and as your explaining, the sync run fast a bit and slow down and it seems not stable. But so far, the wallet works perfectly.

This is the page I had the error, in this picture we have 12 words that we supposed to select in order but when I tried here I only had 11 words instead of 12 but I failed to take the screenshot at that time and I tried again but the error didn't occur but still I let you guys know here to see if someone else faced the same kind of bug.

The last 20% took more than expected but it synced with no crashes, so happy with that.

The dot doesn't necessarily mean is symbol for online it could mean other things because I tried opening the wallet with my internet offline still the dot is shown so it's not meant for our wallet's online status.

If the dot is illuminated, it means you are logged into the wallet.
If it’s blinking, the wallet is still loading.
If it’s orange, the wallet is currently performing a CoinJoin.

Just dropping by to make a few points:

• I liked the fact that the wallet can connect to a full node (as it was in Wasabi) and that we don't have to depend on someone else's server. For me, who has a full node, this makes a huge difference.
• It's the first single-sig wallet I've seen that has a two-factor authenticator. I haven't tested the feature yet, but I'd love to try it when I sign transactions! This is very important for security.
  
• I went to the website and GitHub, but I couldn't find the option to download the project's pub key so I could verify the installer's signature. Could someone show me where I can find it?
  

Gingerwallet really has something different about it and I'll definitely recommend it!

Any Wallet that is not mobile phone friendly will not have much users because not everyone has computer to use many people don't to move with laptop. So I recommend GingerWallet.io company to provide Android version in mobile phones, iPhone, iOS devices for more users. I am not making any comparison but just an example, Electrum Wallet is the most use bitcoin wallet in the wallet if I am not mistaken and probably because it works in different devices. And the way I look at the wallet, it links to conjoin and wasabi because I saw conjoin at the top of the wallet and wasabi at the bottom.

Creating an application can not be instant as they need to check all things before they release to public. Maybe they now are still develop the applications but not tells to us because they still works on that.
