The winners of the Europa League get a spot in next seasons CL. Spurs must beat AZ Alkmaar in London to have a chance to play in Europe next season. Man Utd drew against Real Sociedad so PL teams could be going home. Roma and Lazio had proud wins for the Italians.

Tottenham must defeat Az Alkmaar in the second leg to advance to the next round of the Europa League, and if they can reach the final and win the trophy, they will be able to play in Europe the next season, otherwise, Tottenham will not be able to compete in any European competition next season. Tottenham is the worst team I've seen tonight. Tottenham, despite having so many players, they are unable to beat or score against Az Alkmaar. Tottenham had only one shot on target, which was during the last minute of the game.

However, we believed that Tottenham's lack to perform well this season was due to injured players, but even with players available and fit, they failed to score a goal. This team should look for a new manager next season because we are yet to see the best of Postecoglou, who claims to win in his second season in charge, but his second season with Tottenham looks to be the worst of his career.

No major surprises, although I expected Ajax and Fenerbahce to win their games.

Viktoria Plzen Vs Lazio was pretty dramatic. Lazio scored an opener early on, Viktoria equalised in the 53rd, then Lazio lost 2 men due to red cards in 77th and 90+3 but, despite being down to 9 men, they scored a winner in the last seconds.
I've only watched short highlights so have no idea what those 2 red cards were for and whether or not they were deserved.

From the short video clip, we can see that the two red cards given by the referee were deserved by Lazio players, because they committed quite dangerous violations. But in the end, Lazio managed to achieve a dramatic victory in the final minutes of the match, the goal from Gustav Isaksen was quite beautiful. Although there were no major surprises in the first leg of the Europa League today, the draw obtained by Manchester United, Tottenham defeat to AZ Alkmaar, and AS Roma victory were also quite dramatic. Rangers, Lyon and Bodo/Glimt who won with more promising scores will play more comfortably in the second leg.

I didn't like Fenerbahçe's game today, I expected much better from them. I think Mourinho didn't observe Rangers well enough. This score is embarrassing for them. They should have drawn at home at the worst. Now their quarter-final dreams are probably over. It's very difficult for them to score at least 3 goals and win in Scotland. They have so many good strikers but only Djiku (defender) scored.

Manchester United team performed very well in this match, but I predicted that Real Sociedad team would win this match.

What do you  consider as performed well. I watched the game and real sociedad dominated the game more and even after Manchester United went ahead I still strongly believe that real sociedad will find a way back.
I think right now Manchester United has lost every bit of confidence and they going into every game hoping it doesn't turn out badly for them.
I believe that they have a chance but they will have to come into the second leg with more believe and confidence.

How long is Manchester United going to endure the pressure that's on the way coming towards them? These guys are not strong enough to get the possible 3pt and the fans are not 100% sure if they can pass this stage. Real Socidad made a big mistake by letting UTD get a goal, this is a game they are suppose to win even at 1nil Man UTD was leading they weren't sure if they can hold it till 90'mins, Amorim knows it, at Man UTD the defense not good enough, midfield they are managing and the attack is a zero rating for UTD so how can they withstand the pressure from the Spanish side? The second leg I hope Real Socidad come all out because that defense line of Man UTD can't stop the force they are coming with and the Red Devils have a big game this weekend so can they get something out of this encounter against Arsenal before hosting Real Socidad?🙄

I was shocked by this defeat, it seemed like the Scottish league was bigger than the Turkish league. Honestly, conceding 3 goals at home was terrible and I think it's impossible that Fenerbahçe will be able to reverse this defeat in the second leg. Everyone should be surprised with the result because we favor Fenerbahçe to be one of the candidate of finalist. But Fenerbahçe was defeated by Rangers with 3 goals. We know Fenerbahçe is one of the teams in Europa League that has a strong defense. Sadly, in today match, their defense looked very fragile. And their attackers looked like very badly because they had too lack of accuracy in shooting. They only scored 1 goal although they had 23 shots.

Fenerbahçe may end up with 0 trophy in this season. In Turkish league, it is quite impossible to catch Galatasaray. Meanwhile in Turkish Cup, it will be a difficult match to face Galatasaray in the quarter final.

The game ended in a draw after Rela socidad got an equalizer and Manchester United were unable to get another goal to stay ahead in th game,  I think Manchester United is gradually having challenge scoring goals as they have only win my small margin and have been struggling to keep clean sweets which makes it obvious how weak their defence could be and lastly their reluctance after scoring a goal that keeps them on a lead is usually just too much and that could also be a challenge that are facing currently and until they finally fix their defence and gwt a good striker,  they may continue to suffer challenges as this and may not be able to make it to winning the europa league this season.

Despite this match being a disappointment for the audience, I think this match is quite an encouraging result for the team who has a bad performance. MU must maintain this tournament in order to save their name. Only the European league will lift this club from the slump. Fenerbahce with this big defeat nearly ended their journey in UEFA Europa League and it is very hard to make a comeback after a big defeat in a first leg. Ajax Amsterdam declined recent years after a successful season in Champions League several years ago, after that they lost many star players to bigger clubs and failed to build up a new competitive squad.

Roma had an exciting match with Athletic Bilbao, both teams played well but AS Roma deserved to win it at Olimpico stadium even they only managed to score a winning goal at 90+3 minute. The second leg match in Spain with Athletico Madrid will be very hot and exciting, with Roma it contains high presssure and considerable challenge in a home away match while Athletic Bilbao already shown their strength in Italy.

At least, think positively Manchester United got a draw and succeeded to avoid a loss in a first leg. In the first half Manchester United also had various good opportunities but anyway the Real Sociedad players really did tight blocking with the players in front of the goal to make it difficult for the Manchester United players to score goal, in the second half I admit Real Sociedad attack was also quite sharp and it was really dangerous after they got 1 goal from penalty making them more excited.

I don’t know who wouldn’t see Lazio to be the favorites when matched against Viktoria Plzen because, they were mine favorite. They play in a much competitive league the serie A and have got some good quality on its team as well.

The event of the cards could have easily shifted them out of favor as, you’ve almost got no business in the attack after losing 2 men but, Lazio still managed it and executed some successful moves towards getting themselves a winning goal from this fixture.

Athletic Bilbao lost one player and gave AS Roma very great chance to do mass attacks in last minutes. Eventually, it results in a second goal for Roma and a loss for Athletic Bilbao that can win at their home stadium in Spain and bring this pair to two extra halves or even penalty shootouts.

I don't think so. I don't think Manchester United will win the second leg match with an attacking strategy. Because Manchester United's attack and defense are not strong. In the first match, Manchester United and Real Sociedad kept their defense strong and then attacked. If Manchester United plays a full attacking strategy in the second leg match, Manchester United's defense will not be strong enough. The chances of United conceding goals will increase even more.

The upcoming matches will not be easy for Manchester United because their team has been hit by injuries and several players were already on the sidelines, and the next match for the two best players is uncertain. One of the best defenders Maguire and midfielder Ugarte may not be seen in the next match due to injuries. I think coach Huben Amurri will not take risks by including them in the next match. Honestly I am very curious what the function of the strikers at Manchester United is now especially Hojlund who has no impact whatsoever and vice versa the team captain who has no idea what to do under pressure. Much worse is the other English representative like Tottenham and they suffered a defeat against a much weaker team. for a serious team that want to easily qualify for the next round, getting a draw is not a good result to be proud of because it only places them at a very dangerous place where they will have no choice than play with everything in them in the leg of the game. we all know hoe manchester united can concede some silly goals through there defensive errors, what happens if on the said day something goes wrong and they concede first and their opponent goes back to defend? you have to be at two goals up in the first leg so you enjoy the second leg without serious pressure. even with the stats and the fact that united are the better team, we cant still make it look too certain that they can win the second leg. no one comes into a major tournament as this to play, that they where able to get a draw in the first leg will give them the mind that such is possible for the second leg.

To be honest most Manchester United players are very unserious and I feel lots of pity for Amorim cause he's a good coach that loves to win but is currently working with several players with lack of football sense, I would've used the word inexperienced but Dalot is a senior player in Manchester United and Portugal's national team so he's experienced and should've known what to do in that situation, a pass to Hodjlund would probably had given Manchester United another goal or even caused a penalty if the opponent defender or keeper fouls Hodjlund in the box but what did Dalot do he slowed down and passed to Garnacho. You can see in the 1st imagine, how tight Real  Sociedad attacker was positioned in between two Manchester United defender but their winger Becker still gave him the pass, Dalot even had a chance to give more better pass but his decision making was very poor, hope the board are taking note of this to see that some of these players need to be cleared out for Amorim to succeed.
