The biggest surprise of the night in the Europa League yesterday was that Rangers defeated Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahçe 3-1 away. Besides I never thought Bilbao would lose against Roma however I still think the favoured side of the round will be Bilbao at San Mamés.

The winners of the Europa League get a spot in next seasons CL. Spurs must beat AZ Alkmaar in London to have a chance to play in Europe next season. Man Utd drew against Real Sociedad so PL teams could be going home. Roma and Lazio had proud wins for the Italians.

Spurs this season arent doing well and i think that AZ will pass for sure Spurs even tho they are going away in second leg. Tottenham even if they pass AZ i dont see them winning the title,same goes for Man Utd but they have a better result but i dont think either of this team will win the europa league

It's very disappointed with how spurs bottled the game, though they lost with narrow score. I think they deserved it considering how atrocious their performance in this game.

Logically, they're having a better squad, but unable to utilize their advantage. They have so many players played badly whole game such as Maddison, Tel, Solanke, and all of them. Things worsen when their coach was also unable to handle his club better.

I see no positive from them in this game. I think the only best for the club is that sacking their coach and overhauling their squad if they out from UEL.

No major surprises, although I expected Ajax and Fenerbahce to win their games.

Fenerbahce with this big defeat nearly ended their journey in UEFA Europa League and it is very hard to make a comeback after a big defeat in a first leg. Ajax Amsterdam declined recent years after a successful season in Champions League several years ago, after that they lost many star players to bigger clubs and failed to build up a new competitive squad.

From the short video clip, we can see that the two red cards given by the referee were deserved by Lazio players, because they committed quite dangerous violations. But in the end, Lazio managed to achieve a dramatic victory in the final minutes of the match, the goal from Gustav Isaksen was quite beautiful. Although there were no major surprises in the first leg of the Europa League today, the draw obtained by Manchester United, Tottenham defeat to AZ Alkmaar, and AS Roma victory were also quite dramatic. Rangers, Lyon and Bodo/Glimt who won with more promising scores will play more comfortably in the second leg.

Both Lazio and Roma won their first leg matches and they are best hope for Serie A in Europe this season. In Champions League, only Inter Milan left and this season can be a worst season for Serie A in last four seasons, with three previous successful seasons.

Roma had an exciting match with Athletic Bilbao, both teams played well but AS Roma deserved to win it at Olimpico stadium even they only managed to score a winning goal at 90+3 minute. The second leg match in Spain with Athletico Madrid will be very hot and exciting, with Roma it contains high presssure and considerable challenge in a home away match while Athletic Bilbao already shown their strength in Italy.

Despite this match being a disappointment for the audience, I think this match is quite an encouraging result for the team who has a bad performance. MU must maintain this tournament in order to save their name. Only the European league will lift this club from the slump. Nothing to expect from the premier league, they won't be able to that tournament, they only hope is only European league to bring them to champions league zone on next session. I don't know what happens to Amorim's fate if he can't win on old Trafford because the official still held him for the European league trophy, so if he can't get it, he will got fired as soon as possible.

At least, think positively Manchester United got a draw and succeeded to avoid a loss in a first leg. They will play a next match at Old Trafford stadium, that in any view is still an advantage for them. They are in near bottom of their form, but with likely a last match in UEFA Europa League, they will fight as best as they can. In addition, Europa League and the title there are the only hope for Manchester United to be eligible for Champions League next season.

As I thought, Rome surprised again, it is incredible how my team can always make magic, this team is strong, and when I say it it is because I saw growth all year round and they have grown a lot, in addition to the fact that it really has many strong players

Looks like what you said came true mate. Rangers were much better scoring 3 goals with some really good finishing. Odds @5+ really trap us to believe in Fenerbahçe. A little disappointed with this result.

BTW, Roma vs Bilbao match was really interesting. Both teams gave each other a fight. Dovbyk had 2 chances and the first he had to slip when he wanted to shoot the ball and the second chance Dovbyk's shot hit the Bilbao crossbar. I believe the match will end in a draw.

Edit : Sorry I'm wrong, the 2 chances I mentioned were not from Dovbyk. But 1 chance from Dovbyk and the second chance from Dybala when his shot hit the crossbar.

Yeah my friend. It was very disappointing. I still can't believe how Fenerbahçe played this badly before their supporters.    Rangers could have even scored a couple of more goals if those ones weren't called offside.

I would put the blame on Yeray Álvarez fully when it comes to Bilbao's loss. Because that was such an unnecessary red card. Bilbao had the game balanced in the last minutes normally.

After that they had to be more careful and Roma scored literally in the last moment. Shomurodov was really the savior however I still believe in Bilbao to advance.

for a serious team that want to easily qualify for the next round, getting a draw is not a good result to be proud of because it only places them at a very dangerous place where they will have no choice than play with everything in them in the leg of the game. we all know hoe manchester united can concede some silly goals through there defensive errors, what happens if on the said day something goes wrong and they concede first and their opponent goes back to defend? you have to be at two goals up in the first leg so you enjoy the second leg without serious pressure. even with the stats and the fact that united are the better team, we cant still make it look too certain that they can win the second leg. no one comes into a major tournament as this to play, that they where able to get a draw in the first leg will give them the mind that such is possible for the second leg.

To be honest most Manchester United players are very unserious and I feel lots of pity for Amorim cause he's a good coach that loves to win but is currently working with several players with lack of football sense, I would've used the word inexperienced but Dalot is a senior player in Manchester United and Portugal's national team so he's experienced and should've known what to do in that situation, a pass to Hodjlund would probably had given Manchester United another goal or even caused a penalty if the opponent defender or keeper fouls Hodjlund in the box but what did Dalot do he slowed down and passed to Garnacho. You can see in the 1st imagine, how tight Real  Sociedad attacker was positioned in between two Manchester United defender but their winger Becker still gave him the pass, Dalot even had a chance to give more better pass but his decision making was very poor, hope the board are taking note of this to see that some of these players need to be cleared out for Amorim to succeed.

I thought I am the only one that saw this when it happens, I was really pissed off yesterday when dalot fail to cross that ball to Hojlund, because if he had crossed the ball, that would have been the first goal of Manchester united, how can the decision making of someone playing in such level this poor?
People that doesn't knows football will start blaming coach if they had loss the game, without knowing that most of the players at his disposal are of less quality and that isn't up to the standard of playing for Manchester united.
As for the reverse fixture coming up a few weeks time, it's still an open game no doubt about that, and Manchester united is going to be at an advantage since they are playing at home, but in other for them to win this real sociedad side, they must be in their best possible form because this real sociedad side is also in a very good form, and this kind of opportunities that presents itself that dalot wasted should be best utilized, if not, they might pay for every wrong decision making or incompetency from decisions like this that dalot wasted, so they really need to be at the top of their game if they want to progress to the next stage of the competition.

Fenerbahçe fell apart against Rangers and jeopardized their qualification in the first leg. Fenerbahçe struggled from the start to the end of the game and felt the absence of Fred every minute. One of Fenerbahçe's biggest problems is that they play very badly when Fred is absent or performs poorly. The midfield duo of Fred and Szymanski works well, but in Fred's absence Szymanski disappeared from the pitch and Amrabat's poor performance added to that made defeat inevitable for Fenerbahçe. Rangers sensed Fenerbahçe's situation well and dominated the game with quick passes from the midfield. I think Fenerbahçe will prepare for the rematch with a disadvantage and Rangers will be the team that will be closer to qualifying at home.

Although I had also lost hope on them after receiving the red card and the second red card made Lazio to be completely absent in the game. However, I have to admit that Lazio sucked so bad this days and perhaps going through one of their worst seasons in a while.

I love what you just said, you wanted to compare Manchester United with Realsociedad but you very fast to retraced your step may be because of the unforgettable history the red devils has already,  it is unfortunate that Manchester United has gone this bad, buddy despite the absent of those senior players as you mentioned, for me I don't think a draw is good for them unless we are considering it to be a bit manageable because it is an away match, if thats the case it will be understandable, in fact whichever way, there wasn't an excuse to back up the lapses from Manchester United in that match, why can't they defend just one goal till the end of the match, the players are just making things look like amorim is not doing his job very well and i think thats bad, united has a very unreliable defense, for me I can't blame the keeper because without a good defense, the keeper is nothing, I think they players should help the team everything is looking shattered, it doesn't make sense for a big team like that.

This was how you guys were hyping Real Sociedad, but I didn't see any special thing that they did yesterday on the field. United dominated the match and pressured them in their own house. There is nothing shocking about the Tottenham match. I would be surprised if Az Alkmaar loses.
Az Alkmaar will be my favorite in England.

Real Sociedad could not take advantage of playing at home by only drawing against Manchester United, of course it was a loss for Real Sociedad.

Moreover, manchester united has the opportunity to score during the first half of the game but they wasted it. You know had it mean it was real socieded that has those opportunities I'm pretty sure they would have converted it, however manchester united did absolutely well because I never had the thought that the match will end with a score of draw. You may have been extra confident about this match. In fact the recent performance of Manchester United has made us overly confident and forced us to guess that they will not be able to win easily from a match. But this team has given us exceptional performance in the UEFA Europa League for which I thought they could at least win in this match, yet Manchester United have played much better and even able to draw the match. You appreciate the performance of Real Socieda in this match because they lost to Barcelona by a huge margin a few days ago. However they played attractively against Manchester United.

Honestly I am very curious what the function of the strikers at Manchester United is now especially Hojlund who has no impact whatsoever and vice versa the team captain who has no idea what to do under pressure. Much worse is the other English representative like Tottenham and they suffered a defeat against a much weaker team. It seems quite doubtful for the English representative in the Europa League although Manchester United got a much fairer result because they still have a chance when the second leg takes place.

With a way of playing like that will continue to make everyone doubt Manchester United's appearance in the Europa League and also in their domestic league this season. Because without a deep enough improvement, of course to go further in any league will be difficult and even Manchester United could lose at home if their own way of playing is still like what you said. Manchester United got the lead but I was quite sceptical that they might lose the lead which they did eventually by a penalty kick and  thereby getting an away draw which is fair enough especially from the fact they got some senior players absent on the game.

Manchester United need to do better at Old Trafford and hopefully get a win thereby qualifying for the next stage.

If Manchester United is keen at moving to the next level of the tournament, they must work hard to win the next challenge which will be happening at Old Trafford on Thursday, 13th of March. I won't say it's very bad for them yet since they were able to draw in the last challenge at the home of their opponent, however, going forward, they also need to push the effort higher using the home advantage they have at their disposal. But it's important that they don't get carried away from that opportunity, rather they should play with all the spirit of winning.

Europa League is an important tournament for Manchester United I believe, since their performance this year has been quite bad generally especially at the Premier League, nonetheless, it is only going to be proper if they work extra miles to secure this league, thereby crossing the Round of 16 by winning their second leg.

Real Sociedad is not a strong team so don't put high expectations on them being able to easily advance to the quarter-finals of the Europa League this season by beating Manchester United, in fact I doubt Real Sociedad because their performance this season is not much better than last season.

For the second leg later, of course it will be much more difficult for Real Sociedad who will visit Manchester United's headquarters, even in terms of percentage, Real Sociedad is now small to be able to qualify.
