China's rapid technological advancements can not be overlooked, I believe that you can feel their impacts and presence in every parts of the world. In my country, over 90% of household appliances, industrial materials and machineries including many more are from China, many construction companies are from China, also. The US is still the number one in global economy, no doubt about it but with the way that China, is competing and affecting people's lives globally, anything can happen in the future. China's AI, weapons and industrialization innovations can make them to equal and maybe surpass the US in the future.

On the low, that country is building things and are evolving but the US and their fictional film has made the world think that everything revolve around them. It's what people see they think is relevant but when you look at China, there is a reason why they have decided to not let the US and other threaten countries operate their social media in their country, you can't do Facebook, they have their own over there and they also have Wechat as alternative to Global WhatsApp.

Some months ago, US fountht TikTok because they believe it was own by China and they wanted to ban it because they believe they are stealing their data and it's going to be a problem to tier national security. US wanted to take everything from them but they later settle for half share of the company, now US have access to everything that is done in the company and they did purposely because they fear what China will be doing under the ground without there notice.

Whether we are looking at a strong economy with future potential or just a paper tiger on the verge of implosion is hard to say. The Chinese government often lies to “save face”, so we can't expect truth from them. But considering the real estate crisis, accusations of bad EV and stealing of western IP, with nothing else propping their 'innovation' up, I personally will stay away from investing in anything Chinese.

The only thing China had going for them was being a source of cheap production. But that is very dependent on the political situation. What happens when the west decides to take their business elsewhere?

If I had to guess their biggest issue in the near future will be their aging population.
While it is true that aging population is an issue and they had a "one baby" policy for a long time, that doesn't mean they are not ready for it. The problem they had was overpopulation, in many areas, and that means while there won't be as many workers as there used to be, that is actually a good thing because there used to be a lot, when these aged old people die, there will be a decent size people left, and overpopulation issue will be sold.

To be fair the whole world has a population problem, but that doesn't mean we are going to solve it by law, because it is a personal thing, if you want to have a kid then you want to have a kid, if you do not want to have a kid, then politicians can't make you want to have a kid.

They are very strict and tight in managing their people, but that does not mean they forbid their citizens from contacting the rest of the world. China is very strict but they are not a dictatorship and isolated from the rest of the world like North Korea.
They are still the second most populous country and their population continues to grow every year and they always ensure a steady supply of labor to maintain their position as the factory of the world. So I doubt what you are saying that there are fewer and fewer families being formed in China.
Relying on just a few claims from some Vlogs is not convincing enough and is inaccurate. For population, marriage and birth statistics, we should rely on surveys published by reputable organizations.
While China is fine with self-sufficiency, that doesn't include branding, it just means what they "need". There will still be rich people who will want to buy a prada bag, there will still be kids who want a nike shoe, and either they can get a fake Chinese version, or some will get original.

This doesn't mean it would make them worse, but the problem they have is the fact that no Chinese brand has ever reached those levels, even though they are making their best, people just don't trust them. Look at BYD, it is better than Tesla in most cases, but even if it is not, we can at least safely assume that it is not a shitbox, and yet it is selling like a shitbox because people would prefer to not buy a Chinese made car.

China will become the largest economy in the world, but to be honest, I don't care.
Some economists claim that 40% of the Chinese economy is just a giant bubble, which was pumped by the Chinese government. China has lots of debts, which means that their economic growth is more or less artificial. I don't deny the huge competitive advantage of China as an industrial powerhouse and the rapid development of AI and other high tech industries. China has invested a lot in infrastructure and the education system, which is a good decision, but at the same time, China has problems with aging population and a declining birthrate.
I don't think that China will dominate the world the same way USA dominated the world in the past 80 years.
China "will not" become the richest nation in the world. I said that between "" because while the numbers could eventually one day show that they are, it is the bubble that you talk of that makes it fake. Do you know how you know which nation is richest? If Chinese in general (average Chinese person) have hard time buying European and American products, but Americans and Europeans could buy Chinese products easily, that means the gpa is still there.

Sure there are rich Chinese people, and there are more money in China, but that doesn't change the life of an average Chinese person. A German, or a new yorker could buy whatever they want from China and can afford it easily, same but in reverse is still not possible.

I have to be agreed with you partially about China and few indicators but still calling China is fake and having nothing I am surprised with your mentality because they are currently second-biggest economy, and they are doing many things which are helping them for increasing life for their citizens which is big achievement.
Even things are not as many are having into their mind about China because proxy war is going on between big economies, and they are trying to create negativity about each other, but things are surely taking changes and many countries will be able to have good future with increase of things for them will be also possible.

China is a tough competition I tell you as they are close to beating US but US will do anything possible to be on top and maintain their status in the world, Trump is a hard nut to crack and I thought if he would let China surpass them especially now that he is the president of the United States, i don't see them being the richest in the world any time though but regardless let's not underestimate them because they are smart people.

Isn’t it already? The question is, will the US gain back my its former financial power? Trump is taking the right steps to restore the US to its former glory and I doubt it will be enough. The damage is done. It is probably too late already. At this point he needs a miracle.

China have no debt, have many natural mineral sources, manpower and everything. I don’t understand how the west let this happen to themselves.

Without their help, China wouldn’t be here. 20 years ago China was nothing.

Yes. The Biden administration did more harm than good to the American economy. Trump's tariffs may be "painful", but they're the right "medicine" to help restore America back to its former glory. At least, in the long term. And if Canadians and Greenlanders choose to become US states, the American Union will grow even stronger. But I see what you mean. China is already a "force to reckon with" thanks to the adoption of EV and AI technologies. It's growing at a fast pace.

At this point, it's too late for the US to stop China. It created this monster, and now it must face the consequences. The US must work closely with China if it wants to succeed. There's really no other option. Else, China will surpass the US until it becomes the largest economy in the world. Who knows? Nothing is set in stone. So anything can happen in the future.

We just need to see how this competition ends whether it will remain dominated by the US or indeed switch to China, which until now has always followed the US in terms of the world economy.

Looking at the current conditions, we must be aware that the US economy is in trouble and when things like this are left unchecked, it could become a time bomb that could indeed explode and make its competitors receive benefits (in this case China).

Nowadays war is not only in terms of strong weapons or which country is ready to destroy with nukes but in several clever ways including competition in the economy.
America has been holding this condition for a long time but we will never know what the future will be like because for now actually all possibilities are still very possible.

China "will not" become the richest nation in the world. I said that between "" because while the numbers could eventually one day show that they are, it is the bubble that you talk of that makes it fake. Do you know how you know which nation is richest? To be fair, China is not going to overtake the United States and become the world's largest economy in the near future. But it is not true to assert that they cannot and will never rise to become the world's number one power. We don't have a crystal ball to know what will happen in the future.
But look at their GDP growth in recent decades, they went from the 20th largest economy in the world to the 2nd largest economy in the world in less than 2 decades. It can be seen that they are developing at a rapid pace, something that few other countries can do. Based on that data, we can see that China has opportunity and potential to surpass the United States.

Even the United States acknowledges the challenge from China and if they do not act, it is only a matter of time before China surpasses them. That's why American politics is deeply divided on many issues, but when it comes to dealing with China, both parties agree that they must find ways to stop its rise.

Well my little research I think China should be the world largest economy when measure by purchasing the power party accounting of 9% in terms of nominal GDP China is currently the second largest economy but it has rapidly closing the gap with United states.
China has an largest world manufacturing economy systems with a strong focus on high tech companies like electronics renewables energy and telecommunications industries

That's why American politics is deeply divided on many issues, but when it comes to dealing with China, both parties agree that they must find ways to stop its rise.

https://tradingeconomics.com/china/gdp
China has the ability to become the biggest economy in the world. In terms of modern technology, China can build exactly thesame US products at a reduced cost price. We saw how DeepSeek took over a sizable part of the AI market from ChatGPT. The former had become a good option because it is cheaper and still effective. So china has the capacity to compete technologically with China.

I guess the reason why the US is becoming more friendly with U Russia is to reduce China's influence in the global economy terrain. America is forming beneficial partnerships that will contribute to the country's economy. Just as you said China can be the number economy in the world but the US will not let them get there easily.

This makes me wonder if soon China will surpass the US as the world's largest economy? If not, why? What do you think will happen if China reigns supreme in the future? Will it become the leading force of the New World Order?

If China maintains stable trade policies with the countries of the world, it will certainly perform better than the United States in leading the new world. The new world will not be at its best if leadership is handed over to the Americans again, which is unlikely to happen due to the legacy of crises the United States (and the entire world behind it) suffer from, for which someone must pay the price. As for world leadership when it is not the United States, a new world order in which the dollar is dominant cannot be established.

This seems theoretically good, but nothing guarantees China's peacefulness if it ever assumes leadership of the new world. Power and authority can make any government hostile without many compelling reasons. We have seen this with all powers throughout history, as expansionist ambitions grow during economic prosperity.

China is a very specific country. The thing is that China is not just a country, but a civilization.

China is over 5,000 years old. This gives it great "antifragility" (to use the terminology of the famous writer and philosopher Nassim Taleb). At the same time, it is very difficult for China to transform (in particular, to transform its political system). At the same time, authoritarian countries, as a rule, cannot solve the issue of increasing the well-being of their citizens (which in turn has a very negative effect on such an indicator as domestic demand). In other words, China can be self-sufficient as a state, but it cannot achieve such economic prosperity as more democratic countries. We know little about the Chinese economy, since it is a very closed country. At the same time, we hear rumors about crazy non-targeted budget spending, about empty new cities in which no one will ever live, about factory complexes in which industrial products will never be manufactured.

In my opinion, China is not economically efficient enough to become a superpower like the United States.

Personally, I also don't like the dominance of the United States because they are abusing their power to bully the whole world, but I think it is still too early and hasty to say that our world will be better if China becomes the leader.

I support  the rise of BRICS and hope a multipolar world will be created instead of another power replacing the US and maintaining a unipolar  state. The new world order we should expect is a multipolar world, in which American dominance is significantly  reduced. Power needs to be distributed more evenly, not concentrated in a  single  country or group . Smaller countries have more choices and  do what they think is right instead of depending on dictatorships.

Power needs to be distributed more evenly, not concentrated in a  single  country or group . In the current situation, there is nothing better than a multi-polar world, provided that these poles are international unions and blocs based on shared interests, not empires seeking to form a gang to invade weak nations. BRICS represents a promising project if its economic options provide solutions to current crises and opportunities to establish a better global economy in the future. While it is true that joining BRICS requires several conditions, and not all countries are ready to join, including countries not part of the Western alliance, BRICS countries generally pursue friendly policies toward developing countries, which could help achieve a  sustainable economic renaissance.

Again, this sounds good in theory, but in reality, there are fears that the two major powers (Russia and China) will exploit the alliance to impose their hegemony over their allies, just as the United States did with NATO and, before that, the Soviet Union with the Warsaw Pact.

Even if China becomes the largest economy in the world, many of us will not be surprised... But some people are trying to convince me that India will become the largest economy in the world, it's just a question of time, and they have some valid arguments.

Well, changes are inevitable! Benjamin Disraeli wrote, "In a progressive country, change is constant... change is inevitable.". I guess the same can be applied to the world, we are definitely in a progressive mode, and changes are constant & inevitable. So, what can we expect to happen? I guess each of us has some opinion & idea, and some will surely guess correctly, and some (perhaps many) will be wrong. That's always the case.

China is already one of the largest economies in the world, as a gambler, I see the chances of them achieving even more. But... there's always that but! Smiley

With fears of US hegemony collapsing soon, many are wondering which will become the world's biggest superpower. Currently, China is the second-largest economy in the world. It has been advancing rapidly, especially in the areas of AI, and EVs (Electric Vehicles). Companies like Deepseek and BYD are becoming a "force to reckon with".

This makes me wonder if soon China will surpass the US as the world's largest economy? If not, why? What do you think will happen if China reigns supreme in the future? Will it become the leading force of the New World Order?

Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
Looking at the latest developments between China and America, it is not impossible for that to happen, isn't it true that in world history there has always been a change of superpowers?

I have also seen a video that says as you said, DeepSeek has defeated America's OpenAI, BYD has defeated America's Tesla, Huawei has defeated Apple, Huawei has defeated US Telecom, Alibaba has defeated Amazon, TikTok has defeated Instagram and maybe there are many more that can be slowly defeated by China. Currently, China has also defeated the US in terms of infrastructure, high-speed trains, health, education, space technology, manufacturing, defense technology, gold production, energy, housing affordability, and annual GDP.

So, maybe in the next 7 to 10 years, it is not impossible that China will be able to match American technology in all fields. It's just a matter of time, China will become an economic superpower. Moreover, as I said from the beginning, based on history there will definitely be a change of superpowers. It's just that we need to wait, will there be chaos during the transition of the superpowers? What is certain is that America will not just sit idly by, right, because where there is chaos there is opportunity.

Yes, I do not deny. Some of my friends who are living and working in China said that although the government encourages and promotes people to use domestic products. But the rich and super-rich still choose imported goods from the US and Europe. Brands like Nike, iPhone or more luxurious items like Lamborghini, Ferrari are still the choice of the super-rich instead of domestic goods. But this is not too surprising and does not say anything because it only accounts for a small part and cannot deny the reputation of these top brands because they have existed for hundreds of years. Meanwhile, Chinese products are quite new and everything takes time.

Also, why don't you look at the developments and achievements they have made and are recognized by the world like Tiktok, deepseek, and many other tech products that are making the US afraid? Do you use Tiktok? A social network the US tech industry wants so badly that it has resorted to politics to force them to sell?

That's why American politics is deeply divided on many issues, but when it comes to dealing with China, both parties agree that they must find ways to stop its rise.

https://tradingeconomics.com/china/gdp

China may retain the status of the largest manufacturing economy, but the fact is that it remains a quantitative indicator, but not a qualitative one. Besides, we know very well, no matter how Chinese official channels try to present the story, the reality is that the Chinese economy depends on Western technology, Western investment and Western consumer markets. As much as China would like to, without, for example, the European market, it will never make a profit on the African and/or Asian market commensurate with that of the EU. Third world countries do not demand expensive and high quality goods with high added value like the richer European population. Plus huge subsidies from the “state pocket” cannot last forever either, e.g. when the USA loses its markets to the EU and other developed countries. Therefore, the “world factory” will remain, but it is not the equivalent of the world's largest and strongest economy.

PS And yes - let's not forget about the problem of population aging and falling population growth, which will become very evident in the next 20-30 years

Thank you. Smiley

China can be the largest world economy because they know how to do it. Other countries will just start having bad relations with each other, and this will make others stop buying their products and stop trading with them while China has different policies. That usually had good relation with all countries in the worldand tha'ts why you see their products are using in all over the world.

Still, America has a better situation since they invent better and more products, but China is usually known for making better copies of their products.
