I'm not a legal expert but so far I haven't heard anyone clearly explain what sections of the agreement would grant microsofts rights to actual NEM code and why. Don't say you're not a legal expert so you shouldn't make assumptions. If you guys are all lawyers than explain some stuff to us and maybe we won't think you're paranoid anymore.

You guys just keep pointing out sections. Those sections don't sound problematic to most people because they only seem to entail the code we submit. Which again is very little and not at all related to actual code of NIS.

Anyway, we're never all going to agree so we might as well stop discussing it.

Yes, Catapult is going to push us to a new frontier in the Blockchain space. An almost complete revamp. It will be developed in C++ because we want to cut away all the fat in Java to add steroids to its performance. To the average user, this may mean nothing, but as a technology, this is a class of its own. As an application solution, this is an enterprise offering.

Additionally, after hearing thoughts about the feedback on Mijin, we have decided to come to the middle of the road and do a dual license thing, open source the solution while it is also a commercialised solution. A balancing act. But all this bodes well for the entire initiative.

It can only move upwards from hereon. Finally, with this arrangement, we now will have at least one commercial company who is going to make sure that NEM lives on for a long, long time.

As was said all along, NEM devs have been hard at work behind the scenes.  Major deals and advancements in blokchain technology don't happen overnight.  For the last few months a rewrite of NEM into C++ with many modifications has been taking place.  We are happy to announce that the project is coming along well and is ready for an official announcement. 

As a part of the partnership with Mijin, NEM is exploring a unique blockchain model, one of a tightly integrated public/private chain, with one Core team building for both at the same time.  We hope that this will help us to gather the interest of businesses and apps that need a blockchain with a lot of options.  Whatever they need, we will try to make it possible. 

We also expect that this news will help to bring NEM into the spotlight more and give it more attention (that we believe it deserves).

The new Catapult engine is being built for security and scalability as well as ease of use to build on.  We expect it to be awesome.  NEM developers are taking everything they learnt from writing NEM and doing it all over again, but better all around.

With this news the NEM devs have left their old jobs and are now officially full time paid developers working on NEM/Mijin.  And with that move I need not point out that there are just a few other chains with full time paid developers, bringing NEM is the same category such as Ethereum and Bitcoin.

Nice innovation going on here, I like the fact that NEM team is innovating so quickly and has the highest technological standards in crypto, also the professionalism surrounding this project makes it in the same league as Bitcoin and Ethereum indeed, in the long run I suspect NEM will outgrow both of those projects, but it's all in the hands of the NEM devs, if they keep up this attitude, determination and professionalism, NEM going mainstream is a no-brainer.  It's very exciting these coming years to discover the potential of NEM and the extent till which NEM technology will be implemented into the economy.
