Can someone help me to remove the black boarders on the screen of my Raspberry Pi 2 ?

Do you mean black borders for all output from the Pi? Or just black borders around the wallet?

If you're having issues with monitor black borders, you probably need to reconfigure your aspect ratio or overscan settings, as noted here: http://elinux.org/RPiconfig#Video_mode_options.

Edit: Here's a decent blog post about Raspberry Pis and overscan issues: http://www.webtechgadgetry.com/2013/12/make-raspberry-pi-use-full-resolution-monitor/.

Hello All,

Two news for me today.

1. Got new version of Sweet Spot
http://xmg.makejar.com/download/sweet-spot-0.9.9.zip (includes 2 of the best Magi Miners - could be detected as "Having BitCoin Miners" by your antivirus software)
http://xmg.makejar.com/download/sweet-spot-0.9.9-bare.zip (no miners included, you can put your own miners in separate folders where the sweetspot.exe is)
http://xmg.makejar.com/download/sweet-spot-0.9.9-source.zip (source)
- Added new pool.
- Added dashboard button.
- Added ability to start multiple processes instead of threads.
- Added "Hide On Startup", "Auto Start Miners", "Auto Hide Miners" options. Thanks to Spexx for the ideas.

More info and screenshot:
http://xmg.makejar.com/

If you are curious why there is no setting between 50% and 100% the reason is that pausing and unpausing threads of another app is a CPU hungry process. Additionally pushing the CPU UP and DOWN few times a second is killing the smoothness of work and also the system power usage is almost the same as running at 100%.
So let me assume at 80% you get:
- almost same power consumption as running at 100%
- almost same heat created as running at 100%
- less hashrate compared to running at 100%
- choppy working windows (compared to running at 100%)
Maybe in the future I'll find better way to do it if possible at all.

---

2. Since I got few tips for the Sweet Spot I decided to spread the magic further creating Magi Faucet.

http://magi.steep.rocks/

There is a threshold, I'll try to send the coins within 24/48 hours since I don't keep them on the server.

Don't kill me if I fail or delay a payment ...it is still in a "testing stage" and I'm really busy sometimes Tongue

Nice updates & great work mate, a donation address on the faucet page http://magi.steep.rocks/ for people to fill up the pot would be nice.  Smiley

I have a feeling that the feature will be added if it is not there already. Maybe something in the settings.ini file? Just guessing Wink

A short time ago, to me a faucet was the American word for what we English call a tap i.e. something to get water from. Now I know it to be a website where you can visit every so often and obtain a tiny amount of cryptocurrency absolutely free, if you are prepared to jump through a few hoops and suffer a bit of adf.ly or similar advertising rotator. You can donate to the faucet too. It took me a while to "get" the idea, but now I see it.

Maybe I'll add extra params field shortly (If I find enough space)  Grin

Until then you can put the params in the password field:  -x IP:port

so for http proxy it becomes:
Code:
password -x IP:port
or
Code:
password -x http://IP:port
(I'm not sure, can't test.)

Socks 4/5 proxy:
Code:
password -x socks4://IP:port

password -x socks5://IP:port
Hope you got the idea Wink

It will take few weeks before the next version. I'll have to spend some time with my Watt meter. Thanks for the ideas Spexx.

---

Lol, no adfly, popups etc. in my faucet. Just little fun, captcha and 2 ads to partially cover the running costs. I'm not even blocking the adblockers for the next 3-4 days.

Oh and I wonder.... which one is better: multi threads or multi processes?
If i use multi processes, my worker's difficulty cant raise more than 2, lol but the hashrate remain the same as using multi threads.
Anyway, multi processes take more bandwitch, is that right, guys?

The hashrate using multiple processes is just a tiny teensie bit faster than using single process/multiple threads, but you have to benchmark/measure accurately to see it. You are right that using multiple processes will use more TCP connections and thus more internet bandwidth, but the bandwidth used by any one process is tiny anyway and the connection protocol used is very low on overheads, so it not really a problem.

The main benefit from using multiple processes is that it gives you the opportunity to connect to more than one pool and spread the hashpower across multiple pools.

Oh i see, but why do we have to spread the hashpower across multiple pools? So all the pools are active and live on?

And thanks NeedIfFindIt and cryptospout, i got XMG from your faucets already  Grin. And to tell the trust, im really hate AD banners, and i alway have ad blocks programs running, but today the faucets addresses are the first exceptions, as my thanks to the faucets owners  Grin Grin About 0,1XMG/h is not a big amount with everyone, but with new miners like me, it's alot, lol. Thanks guys again.

Oh i see, but why do we have to spread the hashpower across multiple pools? So all the pools are active and live on?

That is one reason, yes, but there is a general fundamental principle in all cryptocurrencies that no one party should ever control more than half the total hashpower. What I like most about spreading the hashpower across the pools is that no matter which pool mines a block, I get a share of it. Keeping an eye on the pools also allows me to divert hashpower to those pools in need of support from time to time. Ideally, we need at least 3 pools operating at any one time with each having roughly equal total hashpower running on them - very difficult to achieve in practice though.

You do not have to spread your hashpower. Nothing compels you to do so and there is no reason to feel guilty if you neglect to do so Cheesy

Edit: Maxminers need a bit more support at this time Wink
