tooth r2.0 and chvf are best mobos for visheras, i miss my amds  . I7s i have now have 2 times lower tdp and still getting hotter than visheras with same custom loops in same cases(arc 2), i need to delid them this weekend to se how much i can oc them, now my dcs are hitting 80C@4,8ghz   visheras never passed 60C after 12h of prime.I had 8350 oced to 4.8 rock solid at 1.48, your beast could prob downvolt and stay at stock clock.

I have downvolted a fair bit and can get it to run the XMG miner full tilt on a knife-edge in a warm room at 5083 MHz. The temperature at the heat-spreader is 42.3 degrees (measured) while the core is at 73 degrees (indicated). It's a micro-furnace. Just 0.1 degree higher at the spreader and it will stop. What amazes me is that I can push it to almost 5400 and it will boot into Windows 8.1 reliably, even when downvolted. I think I might have been lucky enough to get a particularly high quality chip here.

De-lidding your Intel eh? Good luck with that. I have seen the videos ... and winced. Use some Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra in place of the stock thermal compound and you should see a massive improvement, according to reports.

you won silicon lottery with that chip and that mobo is great, top oc on water on overclock.net is 54xx prime stable that cpu you have is beast  .
i already have it "Coollaboratory Liquid Pro 2" but have so much work last days i didnt done it yet on dcs, first time i was afraid doing it 2 i do it with razor slowly i dont like that yt hammer video guide  , on 4770k i got 8C to 12C improvment across cores

I have updated the list of mining pools used by my XMG mining software package. If you are already using this software, run C:\XMGminer\Setup.bat and select "Download latest list of XMG Magi mining pools" from the drop-down menu. This will do exactly what it says on the tin. After the download has completed, select "Proceed with setup" from the drop-down menu to enter the required details to get up and running. Remember to register on XMGpool and set up your worker(s) first !!!

Note the script should still use the ip address. Also if the token expires while registration, you can just refill the password and pin and check the checkbox before "I agree...".

What exactly are the performance research you mentioned, and hi-precision libraries?

If we look for at how "hash" is computed, we can see many functions mpf_something. Those come from the high-precision library GMP.

Hi-precision is critical to many applications in scientific computing. Google leads to several documents about this. I cannot quite tell if those can work as a drop-in replacement for GMP but it's quite obvious there's a lot of research going into some GMP-like GPU-accelerated processing (mostly cuda, as standard in high performance computing).

So we can say that Magi, by leaving the realm of pure cryptography, is fostering competition in something that has real world value.

Not quite getting "fostering competition in something that has real world value"; unfortunately I don't see real world value yet, if it does have, that appears trivial. If we want to make use of the "wasted PoW" power, must be something far better than that.
