Media Loses Interest in Houston Mosque Arson After Muslim Charged



HOUSTON, Texas—The Muslim charged with setting fire to his own mosque turned over his passport and the judge set his bond at $150,000 on Monday. He remains in jail.

True to a prediction by Breitbart News’ John Nolte, once authorities revealed the identity of the alleged arsonist as not a white racist inspired by Donald Trump but a Muslim, the mainstream media lost interest in the story.

Moore did not appear in court but was represented by his attorney Edward M. Chernoff. His arraignment where charges will be formally read against him has been reset upon the request of his lawyer. He will have an opportunity to enter a plea of guilty or not guilty at that time.

Gary Nathaniel Moore has been charged with arson in a place of worship, a first degree felony.

As reported by Breitbart Texas, the charging instrument stated that Moore started a fire by igniting materials at a place of worship on Christmas Day. The complaint charges that he used and exhibited a deadly weapon, namely a fire, to commit the felony offense of arson at the Savoy Masjid Mosque in Houston.

Moore told a Houston fire investigator that he has been a member of the mosque for five years, and comes to the mosque to pray five times a day, seven days a week, as reported by Breitbart Texas.

Breitbart News reported shortly after Moore’s arrest that the media immediately exploited the conflagration at the mosque to place the blame for the fire on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. The theory quickly went up in smoke upon the devout Muslim’s arrest.

CBS, CNN, and NBC media outlets all published articles reporting the arson should be investigated because of the “recent spike in hate incidents targeting mosques nationwide.”

Breitbart News reported that a CBS News article said that advocacy groups believed “that there has been a spike in anti-Muslim incidents across the United States in recent weeks that can be linked to the mass shooting in California and the inflammatory rhetoric of Donald Trump and other presidential candidates. And they say that Muslims are fearful the backlash could lead to further harassment and violence.”

Salon.com also refused to change an extremely misleading headline that blamed the fire on “anti-Muslim violence,” even after the identity of the Muslim suspect became known, as reported by Breitbart News.

The prediction by Breitbart News’ John Nolte that “[n]ow that a devout Muslim has been charged, the DC Media will forget all about the incident” has become true. With the exception of the hometown paper, the Houston Chronicle, and a few other Texas media outlets, Moore’s latest court appearance has gone largely unreported.

Moore is scheduled to be back in court on January 20.

I don't read or watch faux news, so your presumption there is as wrong as many of your ideas and prejudices.

But it was reported that the yearly 1000+ car burning occurred in lower income neighborhoods largely populated by Muslim immigrants, and at least one report is that most arrested for these crimes were (Muslim or "immigrant"), I forget which offhand.

Truth #1 statstics based on ethnic or religion are illegal in france we dont have official statstics on this

Truth #2 90% of "muslim" in those area are not more muslim than you and me, they drink alcohol etc they dont give a shit about the coran

Truth #3 90% of "muslim" in those area are refugee from Algeria war, and actually fought Islamism in the side of France during Algeria war. They see radical Islam even more as a pest than most french or american who just know this from faux news.

Truth #4 lot of french are actually racist, there is always high degree of discrimination from police, job recruitment, lot of ressentment actually from both sides due to Algeria war and colonies problem.

There was violence in those place much before Islam started to become the thing after the 9/11 and faux news started to media bombing about Islam all day. Islam was never mentioned as the source of the problem before.

Most of the people involved in the bombing are not even muslim. The guy from nice, merah, etc, none of them were specially muslim. They eat porc, drink alcohol, go in clubs, they know very little about the coran actually. Each time they say "He radicalized alone in 3 weeks" after they are shot dead, end of the story.

Most of them involved in the attacks have history of psychiatry , criminality, familly problem, they are not part of organized muslim community, more associal criminal with psychiatric problem.

The connection with Islam is really very moot, and the problem exist for decades and it only started to become because of Islam after the 9/11.

France is also very atheistic country, and the cursor for considering someone as religious might be more sensitive in france than in any other country.

I can tell before there was the attack in bataclan, there was surely a huge tension in the suburb, nothing visible, but I had super bad feeling few day before, and everyone even the "gangsta" were super shocked lol it rised the level horror and violence one degree higher than usual, nobody really condone this stuff.

I agree that today her Christians are very much eager to fight and are fighting even in foreign countries. But nonetheless Muslims do very bad things, and in these acts of terrorism there are a lot of peaceful people.

Among the Christians and people belonging to the other religions, I could say that there are a few bad apples. But can't say the same about the Muslims. Because the vast majority of the apples are rotten and damaged there.
