this is messed up, ok so I downloaded nicehash miner and benchmarked my 4 x rx480s

now my fans do not work properly

In claymores my -TT comand and -fanmin dont do anything

my fans are stuck on 20% and I cannot mine

Using AMD's Wattman, reset everything, all GPUs, to default values. Restart and try to mine at stock values, without using the miner to set any variables.

It should work!

If it doesn't, use Sapphire Trixx or MSI Afterburner to set fan speed, at least to make sure they won't be stuck at any value.

Restart, and try to mine now using the miner to set the fan's speed.

If I test on other rigs it works but when I use this rig fan speed is capped at 20%, I am using the exact same files for mining so how do I fix this software problem

re install ur drivers and watman software should fix ur problem

-did u try system restore and see if deletes some crap that nicehash left in ur computer?
- Its afterburner set in automatic + fan curve activated + "apply"

Remove the current driver in safe mode with DDU, and install an older version.

Force the system to reset all settings.

The fans are not physically stuck, right?

You have to force GPU to receive different commands. That is done via the device drivers. Change them!

maybe your rig that has this problem you don't connect the display/monitor to one of your GPU.. but instead you connect your monitor to the onboard VGA (iGPU).. if that's the case, try to connect your monitor to one of your GPUs that you're using for mining.. and also don't forget to set graphic configuration in your bios setting to PCI-E...

I've made some notes on hashrate and watt.

R390 eats 200W with 270 sols
R7970 eats 165W with 184 sols
R7950 eats 110W with 170 sols

Every card is undervolted.

Most efficient is 7950 1.54H/W.

R7950 eats 110W with 170 sols  <-- That is more efficient than the 400 series...

Fury does even better 1.76 H/w

I see some posts that V8 reached hardware limits and there is no way to improve speed anymore. It's not true.
I'm working on new version with another good speedup, though it takes more time and efforts.

And whats the point?? High temperatures, more electricity and same profit, cuz all are with the new miner. Your new versions are not helpful, do you know that? Also some cards have really bad speed

Wrong because?? My cards were at 60C, now are at 75C. The profit is same! Tell us your point!

If you dont like it just dont use it, its easy as fu*k.  by myself with my 390 cards I m getting from 200 sols with 190-200 W to 290-300 sols for 200-215W 280x from 130 sols with 100w  to 220 sols with 180w for me is working perfectly. Just mine and fap at the same time. Go ti linux and make more profit if you can. I wish you the best!

My miner does not support Linux, Nvidia, CPUs. They will not get any speedups from my miner.
Though I'm ready to stop development if most of people think so. It's not a problem for me at all. Make a vote somewhere to see results.

Tried to disable some things in device manager and also bios and custom settings z170 motherboard and still no dice to get more than 3 cards (2 mounted on mobo and 1 riser) will try all riders after I can build a case. Got 492h/s steady getting about 140 each r9 380 (2gb and a 4gb) and about 220 on the 280x. I think the 280x has more but all fans set to 100% temps are 64 top 380 in case, 60 bottom in case, 60 280x outside case (case has side off tower laying on its side for heat to rise out

dont waste yoru time with the Z170 chipset the only one i have found to work with 6 cards is the Asus super high end one thats like 250

can you at least let us know what all you tryed?

pc restart, reinstal of driver, unplug of the gpu from pc and giving back, monitor connecting?.. (that all the things i would try...) not an expert at all..

ok one out of 4 of my rx480s is now hashing 1/5th of the other ones

even when I take out the card that has just fucking fried (FML)

and use my 3 ones that are still working, they are stuck on 20% fan speed

if I try to mine my cards will get to hot and burn, as stated -tt 75 has been working for me fine for weeks,

then all of a sudden I try using benchmark with nicehash, then I go back to zcash mining and my fans stop going past 20% and one of my cards has now fried.

Did you try WattMan? MSI Afterburner? What fan speed does it display?
Restore your Windows to the day before you tried Nicehash OR use DDU to uninstall the drivers and uninstall Nicehash...
