1070 @ 250
1080 @ 300

Nvidia people are starting to catch up.

280/330 on oc version for 1070/1080, so it's even faster than clymore, if we compare the Bandwidth

For the price Nvidia is costing, number are still not too impressive, an old r9 290 acheive that.

yeah at 250w against 100w...if you want cheap gpu there is the 1060 3gb that do 170 sol with that miner

what miner? does any1 have a link to it?

There are always pros and cons with different GPUs.

100 watts at 300h/s sure is nice. But $150 for a 290/390 is much better than $400

Even if you pay alot for power, you are most likely better off with the 290 today since the speed today will yield much more profit than the power savings in the future. Because in the future, 6 months from now, who knows if there will be anything worth mining with either the 290 or 1070.

$150 for a 390? i guess secondhand not new, second hand 1070 should cost less than $400 already especially if reference, i guess even $300

if everything die i just sell back, with a 290 you are stuck there no resale value

if we assume a electricity cost of 0.2 cent it's far better to go with a 1070

6 x 1070 against 12 x 290 based on the investment($300 vs $150, secondhand), one would consume $86 per month the other $430(600w vs 3000w)

one would give you 0.36 btc the other 0.72(assuming same hash, 250 sol), so net for 1070 is 274-86 =$188, for 290 is 548-430= $118

so you see a 1070 is better at 0.2 cent, but not at 0.1 cent(you can easily check it)...not to mention that 3000w need bigger psu and better cooling, which add to the end cost

all depend on the electricity price

that's a good deduction  Wink

and don't forget that if you want more rigs then you need bigger power source for the 290/390 cards. (that was an important aspect for my garage-mine Smiley ) I prefer the RX470 4GB if somebody wants to buy AMD card.. that is more competitive.

ZEC dont have chance to be pumped or even to get normal price. Specially now that v 9 will be reeased.
Also Nvidia nade good prog for mining, so diff will raise a lot.
Till miners dont stop dumping ZEC price will just go down down down...........

And in the next line:

with a 290 you are stuck there no resale value

Wow hawaii lost its value quite fast, it only took one line this time.

I understand your point but your numbers are again very extreme.

could it be something to do with the dev fee because it seems to happen after the first devfee mining start? i have tried adding -allpools 1. not sure what that does though.

i have 4 cards on the rig and am using 2x 750w corsair psu with 2cards on each (r9 290's)

The 290 is at the bottom of the depreciation curve. Buy one for $150 today, sell for $100-$125 a year from now.

With the 1070/1080, even if it only loses 10% its value (which is impossible most likely will be more like 30-40%) it will still depreciate more in $ than the R9 290s.
