OK I think we all know now that last week wasn't the most profitable week on middlecoin and with the altcoin scene as a whole for that matter.
But it seems to me that things are getting better and my balance has been growing much faster for the last 4/5 hours.
Am I the only one to notice that? (Im on the EU server)
Middlecoin doesnt work well on an hour by hour, or day by day base, it best to look at it at week by week at the min, but month by month. There will be a reason for everything the pool does, its not just randomly picking a coin and mining. H20 might have a volume deal or something. Just looking at coinwars doesnt help knowing what coins are really doing, or who wants what.

The last week hasn't been the best for me either, but I'm patient. Middlecoin is still the most interesting pool for amateur miners, in my opinion. As for the last couple of hours, my BTC-buildup seems to have slowed down a bit. But especially with low hashrates, you can't really say much about short periods of mining. By the way, if you're connecting to the EU-server right now, you're actually connecting to the US-server. h2odyssee said so a couple of hours back. Try pinging eu.middlecoin.com. You'll find the same latency as with middlecoin.com.

Anyway, to answer you and captainbeck, I'm not saying that everything has been worked out or implying how bad it was last week, I'm just saying that for the last couple of hours things have been doing much better for me. Now maybe I'm wrong, I don't know but it seems to me that my balance is actually growing faster. In the end, I agree with you, middlecoin is the most interesting when you don't have a lot of time to give to the mining/trading thing. Been mining here for 3 weeks now and I don't plan on going anywhere else for the time being.

What risers did you buy??? I'm looking to get some powered x1 to x16, a couple on the market. So not sure on which one, the cheaper ones dont appear to come with a cap on the power rail. Wondering how needed that is. There seems to be a real range in price aswell. I'm thinking of going for some from http://litecoinminingparts.com/What do you mean cap? If its that little cylinder looking chip on the 1x - 16x well this has it.. I got it off Ebay. I also bought 16x -> 16x Unpowered As there is only 3 on the motherboard at the moment. I cant see a problem with having Un-powered risers if your putting them on 16x slots, especially if there is only 3 cards at the moment and you have a good PSU. If I were to plug a card into the 1x Slot then Definitely I will use a powered riser as those slots don't allow as much current draw.

Dont have much unexchanged hanging about/building up.

What's a good latency? I'm getting 240ms! Doesn't seem too good.

Great report, thanks for doing that. Be interesting if someone could do the same for hashcows.
Hashcows would of been a better comparison, but even then, you cant say one would win, Ill tell you what may happen. One week Middlecoin the next hashcow, This may require a longer test Example 4 weeks This way if one comes out on top every week for 4 weeks, they must be doing something better than the other.

How much was urs off ebay??

Can someone explain why we're mining litecoins instead of other more profitable alt-coins?

LTC would show in cgminer with a diff of 3.37K or 221M, depending which version you have. I don't see that diff now, we seem to be switching between DOGE and CAT (17.3M and 6.45M).

50-60ms is OK, 100ms is starting to go a bit slow, 200ms is still usable, 300ms stales will climb some more If you are in the EU you can just point your miners to eu. and it will auto-switch when that host is pointed back to the EU server By the way, if you're connecting to the EU-server right now, you're actually connecting to the US-server. h2odyssee said so a couple of hours back. I'm sure there is good reason to be mining LTC. If you dont feel there is, doesnt take much work to redirect your miners to a different pool for a while.

Seems to be bouncing back between Chinacoin (3.08M), CAT, and LTC now...all the alts are doing shit right now by the looks of it

in not a "feel" its simple math if you mine litecoin you get X btc, if you mine other you get >X btc as someone mentioned small coins can't be exchanged at high volume for btc without crashing meaning its more profitable to mine with smaller pool safest way is to point rigs to different pools, but people with only one rig are making a bet on pool's owner which not always working well. last week middlecoin was better profit than others but this week it is not possible unless others will start mining less profitable coins.

I created an Excel file with the following columns: --- SNIP --- done. I see how much it is fluctuating. Not so much actually. ... And all that goes into ONE LINE in Excel, because then the next line is just filling in the values, pulling a few calculation cells down - and the result is there. ... Does this help? Overanswered, I guess :-)
Whoa Drakoin! That is deep! Can you send me the file you made to see if i can make some order out of all this information stream? I don´t really know an awfull a lot, but im learning (or at least trying!)... Thanks in avance for the attention... Best Regards, LPC Happy to help. Welcome to the strange&mesmerizing world of cryptocurrencies :-) Myself, I got so much help here. This web based collaboration work is amazing. And here is your answer. Overanswered again :-) but I wanted to beautify the Excel sheet a bit, before I send it to you. DOWNLOAD THE EXCEL SPREADSHEET HERE: https://mega.co.nz/#!B9pzGY6K!coGgVCE260BII08hBnRWtE8At08GV-PqJ61v_kSY8c0 copy the whole line into your addressfield, the URL is not recognized in this forumsoftware??? Hi Drakoin! Thanks for your reply! Im going to see your file later on... But thanks for helping me out (and others who will use it!) This is a great comunity! LPC
