The first time I ever heard about B.A.S was their inception of FPGA-based miners.  Seems like I never ran through any rants or complaints against B.A.S as compared to *ahem* ButtFuqLabs.  However, I don't really know what kind of track record B.A.S has either.  Just because I don't hear complaints doesn't mean the company is perfect.  Any one here care to chime in on their personal experience regarding past purchases made from B.A.S?  I'd like to know if they are actually capable of starting on the assembly and shipping process by Feb. 2014.

I have an order which I never received an invoice...  My first order was quickly invoiced though I did have to send BTC and set a "sale price" for on btc-e, which was odd.

I'm going to get caught up on this thread soon but I've so far not read anything since my last post. We're even further behind with tickets because we're working hard on adding resellers to our ranks. We're making great progress on that front and will work hard to get caught up on our orders and tickets. Each reseller that we add will eventually reduce our work load and will allow for better customer support. We really appreciate your patience in this busy time.

Thanks.

Any one here care to chime in on their personal experience regarding past purchases made from B.A.S?

I ordered 10 of their Lancelot boards.  They were delivered on-time.

9 of the 10 ran perfectly, where 1 had 1 chip not operating.  I was lazy and took a long time to request an RMA.  They granted RMA even though I waited over a month.  Unfortunately the replacement board had a different problem, and I didn't bother to request RMA a second time.  If I had been less lazy about things I think they would have gotten it resolved fully.

I also ordered some blank Avalon PDU PCBs from them, and they were delivered with no problems.

What are the requirements to become a reseller?

Thank you Matt, we appreciate your input. Could you help me understand any benefits to using one of your resellers instead of purchasing directly from blackarrowsoftware.com? I'm in the United States and like the idea of using a local reseller such as minersource.net, but I fear that shipping times may actually be longer due to them being the "man in the middle". In theory, wouldn't I receive a miner sooner by simply ordering from BA directly?

They can take commercial shipments by the crate, which gets things through customs a little faster/easier, vs box by box if going through the OEM. That's one thought.

Unless you pay for next day air which would get it to your door lickitty split, but of course, at quite a premium

It's faster to ship a huge order to one place for distribution than it is to ship hundreds of small items all over the world where they can individually be tied up in customs and individually taxed.

Thanks again Matt. Does BA plan to prioritize large orders to resellers over small individual orders?

Use Bitcoins I dont see why you would ever use a bank wire. Anyway, I just paid for my X3, direct from BA. Fingers crossed.

Im gambling here but as long as we get these before May 1st, I think its probably worth the risk, depends on how much $6k is to you though.

Im guessing the first batch will be sold out this or next week, and hopefully that presses the "go" switch on the 28nm tapeout.

cause they use btc-e to calculate the price off btc. i sold off 2 btc to pay for the 10 i ordered. if i had payed with btc directly it would have cost me 3.49btc...

I read somewhere that they have to pay USD to the foundry.
BTC-e has the crappiest exchange rates though. Sad
