I would rather not even think about that as somebody who became an Octo millionaire after a lot of mining and a lot of purchasing of Octo's at upto 16x that price.

In fact, that has to be the most annoying thing about Octo if it EVER does take off, those of us who have been here since day 1 are going to see some johnny come lately make a massively bigger ROI.

Since getting into Cryptocurrency I've had many bags, all but two have varied over time.  Those are the two I see in the mirror where my eyes once shone.

I hear ya. I haven't been here since day one, but started in July so bought most of mine at 1600-2000 range. All I am trying to say is that I believe this coin still has potential even if most people have given up on it. And since I do still believe I will buy coins up if for no other reason that to say I told you so once things begin to happen. People want everything now...gimme, gimme, gimme. Fucking little kids.......just wait...be patient for once and things will come. If you can't wait then fucking sell.....to me.Thank you.

Saw this, thought of octocoin:

http://www.businessinsider.com/average-shareholder-in-apple-supplier-gtat-pleads-with-bankruptcy-court-2014-10

The series of events aren’t the same, but the helplessness in this small investor’s letter is how I feel vs. the actions so far of the octocoin developers.

The letter writer stands to lose far more on GTAT than I will on octocoin, and I hope far more than anyone will on octocoin. I feel terrible for him.

What hit me as most painfully similar to octocoin?

He’s a small investor who will lose money, like me, because he believed in an organization that ultimately proved extremely unworthy of his trust, and like me, he’s powerless to do anything about it.

I get that. And this isn't a regulated market like stocks.

However, the octocoin developers have referred to this community as investors and people making an investment in this coin.

Apparently one more thing I should not have believed in.

I feel your frustration. No one has more invested in Octo than I do. I've written off my "investment" and if it pays off in the future then it's like hitting the lottery.

Good luck to everyone.

i dunno what to consider us.... investors/gamblers.... either way i don't have more in Octo thani can afford to lose.

sux if it was a waste of time and money.... i truly am not in a huge hurry.... if it does something before next March at the year mark i'll be more than happy.

as far as i'm concerned that's a solid date to give someone a year when they were talking about everyone meeting in Vegas for the year anniversary....

we will see one day one way or the other.

Maybe the double spend issue again? We still don't know if it was a Octocoin wallet issue or a problem caused by Bittrex...Devs wanted to fix it, but we never recieved a update

Just an update on the Bittrex situation: we have received additional details from Richie and are digging into the issue. For those concerned about OctoCoin potentially being delisted from Bittrex, here are Richie's comments:

"Don't worry about delisting... I'm more concerned about this problem because it might impact a lot more than just octo."

Basically, as some of you have already gathered, some of the transaction comments are apparently being overwritten which is how Bittrex manages payouts. They froze 888 trading and put up a "delisting" warning both to prevent additional repeats and to expedite action on our part. While we have never experienced this issue nor seen reports of any issues until now, not all services operate in the same manner. It's possible this is an issue that has been corrected in the latest Bitcoin Core source code and, if that is the case, we will ensure the fix is implemented and release our new wallet ahead of schedule. Regardless, Bittrex may want to consider a new method for verifying withdrawals to avoid this potential issue with other currencies. We will get it all straightened out.

And this has happened again.  This only happens with this wallet so at this point we request an octocoin fix Sad

It is not an user forceable scenario but to provide more details, if ALL of these conditions are met, we end up double paying out twice:

* If we send a withdrawal request
* If it times out before returning a txid
* If the send subsequently succeeds
* If the send uses input from a previously conflicted transaction

What happens is that the send succeeds, but uses the comment from the previous conflicted transaction.  This causes us to not see a payment match and we resubmit.  There is no reason why a sendtoaddress call made with a comment is replaced with a comment from a transaction from over 6 months ago.  Please figure this out and solve this issue.  At this time, we will be shutting down the wallet for deposits/withdrawals until we can find a solution.

Thanks,
richie@bittrex

welp, maybe this will evoke a response from the devs. this isn't good news, but it's actionable news, so it could be a lot worse.

that's my attempt at optimism masking a torrent of depression.

and just a question FrameLA, why is "March" for some reason a legitimate due date to hold them to? and not any of the other timelines they've set? because it's the one that hasn't passed yet? lol. keep passing the buck...

Same here.

And I think we're all alone here now.  If you listen carefully over the sound of the rustling tumbleweed you can hear a band playing the opening notes of the funeral march.

Last one out turn out the light... oh and switch off that 168MH/s still blindly churning away   Wink

I moved mine (was 168 but a miner died!).  Been mining OCTO for months!  Moved it this morning after Bittrex locked the market.
