At this point who knows what it will reach. The value will be determined by future actions of the devs and this community. As for rare, he means that it has the cap of 88,888,888. So at least it's rare compared these billions of coins and uncapped coins. It's a scrypt coin with a cap close to LTC. Other than being early to the party what's so different about LTC? It's marketing. If Octo can find a way to make the coin more valuable or at least market it correctly it could very well be worth something. In theory, a coin having a cap makes it potentially have more value. Of course, look at Doge.... it doesn't have a cap and it's doing fine because it has the reddit community. But you will never see Doge rise above a penny because there is no cap. If any coin, including Octo can find a market space it can be worth quite a bit. We will see what happens. As for now, half a cent isn't bad for a 2 week old coin. There are plenty of coins listed on coinmarketcap that do well that are shit coins and worth way less than Octo has been since the loss.

As for the wallet it's ok. I agree there are some better wallets out. I personally like the MegaCoin wallet.

First of all, to say buying at over 800 sat is not a good decision is just stupid. This is advice you are pulling straight out of your ass. People said the same crap about Bitcoin, Litecoin, and more recently Megacoin. Any time you have a capped coin potential exists. If these devs are half as good as advertised and they actually have plans for OctoCoin that will already make it one of the only coins with an actual purpose. Other than Bitcoin, I've seen zero innovation in crypto. By next month, the country coins will be proved a failed gimmick and by next year crypto investors will start to realize quality dev teams with a plan matter more than anything else. You don't need "moviecoin" to pay for a movie - we have fiat and bitcoin already. From what I've seen none of the "cause coins" have raised substantial money for any causes because people aren't here to be generous - they're here to make quick profit. Crypto investors tend to be immature and naive - this is why some of the worst coins have done so well while quality is so easily overlooked. Before you know it, real investors with real money are going to be involved in cryptocurrency in a major way and it will change the game.

I personally know one of the OctoCoin devs and he is absolutely a guy with the ability to make this all happen. You start throwing around numbers and you just look like another clueless goofball with an agenda.

The website might not be revolutionary but it's easily the best website for any altcoin. Clean and modern. The wallet doesn't break new ground because it doesn't have to and yet it's also the best looking wallet. Different isn't always better. I love Megacoin but the wallet looks like Sub7 from 1998 and the website is simply rowdy. I agree with most of what you just said. I still like the megacoin wallet but def not the website. And yeah, most coins have horrible design. Octo stands out. They are definitely presentable which helps when dealing with legit customers.

At the end of the day the devs and community will make or break this coin.

jeah, 3 weeks ago someone told me "Blackcoin will be dead in 3-4 days". all i did was buying "some" Blacks at 500 satoshis and then sold it at 3800 (and maybe that was cheap, we will see in the future, right now the market is too hot for me).
I've chosen octocoin to put some money in because looking at all the other new coins, for me, this one maybe got real potential.
I see some organised businessman behind this, and no little boy who just want to release a petcoin or a countrycoin because he thinks this is cool.

It's one of the only coins that even has a real logo (not to mention the only one, to my knowledge, professionally designed). Unfortunately, most people in the crypto world are living 20 years in the past when it comes to design. People still think huge rendered 3D crap makes a cool logo. Obviously art is subjective but, as somebody who works closely with successful tech companies I know the good from the bad better than most and, in this case, it's safe to say your opinion is worthless. Nobody that has a clue about design would make the statement you made about this particular logo. In my opinion the OctoCoin logo is hands down the best logo in crypto.

So you tried -rescan or starting fresh and it doesn't work, and now you want to export the private key into a fresh install and you can't get the private key because of that error?
