(...) not enough for some short-term miners who like regular smaller payouts.

So, you don't like miners that do small regular payouts? Strange, I thought  you wanted miners, not just some special kind of miners that for some reason will always mine in your pool, no matter what! Should have posted that on your pool announcement Wink

That being said I have taken your negative, publically unsupportive criticisms on board and decided to close this pool for the foreseeable future.

Well, closing a poll that has no miners is somewhat logical, you do have costs, for sure. Come back when you fell good again and willing to take any miner, even those pesky sob's that weren't satisfied first time around Cheesy

As another pool closes, the number of active pools for this coin drops. Without the support of the community helping our pools to promote this coin, what will be the fate of Octocoin?[/size]

So true, so true (see my previous post). But then again, you ain't doing much to support it now, are you?
Don't want to be unfair, but bitching about lack of support isn't supporting - maybe you're doing something else I don't see/know about?

Anyway, there's something weird when a pool as several tens of miners and suddenly are all banned and hash rate drops to zero - and yes, I've been supporting small pools since launch, including yours for some time.
Right now, I'm on my last small pool, 'cause they're working  ... lets see for how long Sad

We like all miners mostly, however there are some miners who join a pool for 10 minutes and expect to see a payout, these guys just don't understand how the mining works.

We set up a pool with 0% fee and even did regular bonuses from our own pockets, literally giving out free Octocoins to promote this coin and you're saying we are unsupportive. Ha! That clearly shows how much you know or think you know.

We wish you all the luck in the world buddy. We're out and unfollowing this thread.

Adios amigo.

P.S. If you have Octocoins with us, please withdraw them, the pool will be decommissioned on 31st March 2014.

I hope it helped you relief some disappointment by making this personal and taking it out on me, as if I'm anyone that is able to influence  miners into or out of your pools. You give me way to much credit!

Best of luck for your other pools!  I'll be sure to keep my hash and my bad influence away, don't want to ruin the crypto scene for you, LOL

If there are any Octos there, you're welcomed to them, they are yours - a farewell gift, sort of.

Adios

Make that 15 .. can't mine anymore Huh

Devs, what's wrong, the network is having some sort of trouble - no confirmations for a few hours now, blockchain seems to be stuck?
Pools are dying fast ...

Is Octo dead? Forked? Bugged??

Yeah I hope whatever it is can be worked out. This doesn't look good at all. And it took a lot of effort to get where we are. I hope it wasn't wasted effort.

I'm sure the devs will have to chime in soon. Maybe they are aware of the issue already?

From the start 888 had perfect all :launch, community, devs.
No stress with nothing.

Maybe is a problem now,so what.

It will be past:D

I don't think there's any disrespect. I have enjoyed the devs so far and agree it has been a smooth launch. However, there needs to be some response in times like this to reassure the miners and community of the coin. I know there have been 2 posts with wallet issues that did not appear to be related to the exchanges. It was an issue with confirmations. Now you have miners dropping like flies from pools, including fusion hash. There definitely needs to be a response from the devs.

For now I'm assuming they are looking into the issue and will post when they have something to say and any fixes for the issues. For now i'll keep voting for mintpal as that's what's needed in order for me to recoup from the time i've mined this coin.

Ok, well the blockchain had to be rescanned.. Everything is back in the green and we are on block 17227, so I hope that's the right one.

I guess nobody really knows, but it's really fucked up  Lips sealed

The blockchain is somewhat stuck Huh

As far as I can tell, almost all  pools are either down or can't connect/ban everyone.
I have temporary stopped and mining something else, but I'm not happy about it Undecided

This really sucks.. As far as I can tell, everything is working like it should, but I cannot connect with a miner. Cannot do shit. I've checked over everything. Even tweaked some security features and rebooted, reset everything. Nothing!
