In fact, I was not even expecting a draw from Manchester United because I know they are not in good form. Again, they were playing an away match, and on the other side, Real Sociedad is doing well currently. They have been in good form, so even as Manchester United scored a goal, I was expecting goals from Real Sociedad. But unfortunately, Real Sociedad did not make a comeback in the game.

Actually Manchester United had many chances to score in the match but the lack of effectiveness now their attack is still the main problem in completing every opportunity available, so with Sociedad who were able to get up after at the beginning of the match they did not look aggressive and maybe this was the result of Zubimendi being absent in the match so they did not have a good attack organiser, if you look at the situation and the game of the two teams in the first leg of course a 1-1 draw is a fair result for both teams.

Manchester United tried really hard because that was not the result I was expecting based on their current performances. With this result, I will say that Manchester United's chances of qualifying for the next round have increased because the next game is going to be at Manchester United's home.

In fact, considering how Manchester United started this competition, I didn’t think they would even get to this round in the first place. Manchester United always plays surprisingly well sometimes, especially against some strong teams.

although both teams have the same chance in the second leg later, but in this case I personally tend to see Manchester United have a great opportunity to qualify for the next round, although they are still not optimal with many injured players but in the first leg I saw them starting to have a better character and mentality to win a victory.

If Manchester United is keen at moving to the next level of the tournament, they must work hard to win the next challenge which will be happening at Old Trafford on Thursday, 13th of March. I won't say it's very bad for them yet since they were able to draw in the last challenge at the home of their opponent, however, going forward, they also need to push the effort higher using the home advantage they have at their disposal. But it's important that they don't get carried away from that opportunity, rather they should play with all the spirit of winning.

Europa League is an important tournament for Manchester United I believe, since their performance this year has been quite bad generally especially at the Premier League, nonetheless, it is only going to be proper if they work extra miles to secure this league, thereby crossing the Round of 16 by winning their second leg.

In my opinion, an away draw for Manchester United is a great result, I held this opinion even before the match started and during the game I was even surprised how well they played, Real Sociedad only came back at the end of the match. At first I thought that Manchester United had no chance, now they have one, I don’t think it will be easier for them at Old Trafford, but in front of their fans they can try to beat Sociedad, now that they didn’t lose the first match it looks more realistic.

I already knew that Manchester united can not secured the victory over Real Sociedad in this game. because even in their past records shows that both teams performances are quite the same, though even when I saw that Manchester united have score 1 goal in the second half I was quite confident that Real Sociedad would definitely equalize the game before the end of the match.

You may have been extra confident about this match. In fact the recent performance of Manchester United has made us overly confident and forced us to guess that they will not be able to win easily from a match. But this team has given us exceptional performance in the UEFA Europa League for which I thought they could at least win in this match, yet Manchester United have played much better and even able to draw the match. You appreciate the performance of Real Socieda in this match because they lost to Barcelona by a huge margin a few days ago. However they played attractively against Manchester United.

The performance of the United team has made a lot of people to start doubting their possibilty of winning matches that they are supposed to win, just imagine someone confidently saying that even when United was winning 0:1 he still believed that they were not going to win the game that's shows you the level of distrust people now have in Manchester United whenever they play. United performance in the Europa League competition is fine compared to their performance in the league but then let's not forget that Real Sociedad is not a team to be compared to United and their poor performance in the league also has a lot to do with the reason why United could not be defeated by them yesterday. The return leg will be in Old Trafford, Manchester United should take the advantage to win if they want to qualify for the next round.

getting a draw, away from home is not a very bad result  though, but for a big club as manchester united, they should normalize setting a standard in these kind of games by winning from the first leg of the fixture.

Yea but Real Sociedad is still not a small club although United is bigger but we know their current state is a total mess now.

I still think the draw is okay considering the senior players absent and this would motivate them hopefully to do better because come to think of it many of the players doesn't show drive for winning but as the game end with a tie some will want to do better and qualify for the next stage rather than being in a state of rest if they got a one or two goals win. A comeback of such is possible against Manchester United especially with their weak defence and disappointing goalie.

I agree with you totally, at Manchester United current situation, anything can still happen in their home. Any team can go there and get a win. It won't be the first time if it happens against real Sociedad when they visit Old Trafford. In recent times Manchester United have been doing more better in away matches than they have been doing at home. But no matter how things go for them during the second leg, it is better that they didn't lose yesterday. They shouldn't go and feel relaxed thinking that yes we are playing at home next leg and we are going to win. They might be suprise to see how prepared real Sociedad will come for them. I said before the match started that if Manchester United was serious about the match they would win the game, Manchester United played well in the game because they were more short on target than Real Sociedad and Manchester United also played as a team in the match, Manchester United played in Real Sociedad home and the game end 1-1 draw and the second leg of the match will be at Old Trafford at I am expecting Manchester United to play well and defeat Real Sociedad to qualify to next round of the league competition.

Manchester United can defeat Real Sociedad and also win the Europa League trophy if they are serious in their matches, this is the only Trophy that Manchester United can win this season and they should not let them miss the opportunity, I believe that even Manchester United players and the coach know that this is the only Trophy that they can win that is why their performance is good in this competition.

I see where you're coming from, but I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Real Sociedad. The first leg was a tight match, and while United has the bigger name, Sociedad have played extremely well in Europe this season. They don't mind taking the game to stronger sides, and United's inconsistency might well come back to haunt them.

Old Trafford does enter the picture, and if United play with some fire in their belly, they ought to be capable of winning. The problem is, they've been inconsistent, and if they play the second leg as they played the first, they can get eliminated. I believe it's a 50/50 game, and Sociedad pulling off the upset would surprise me not one bit.

Real Sociedad is that team that can surprise you on a good day. Let Manchester United not get carried away that they will be playing at Old Trafford. The best thing they can do is try to kill off the game in the first half if they can. Maybe if they try to sacrifice that upcoming encounter with Arsenal and concentrate on Europa, which I don't see them affording. It's going to be a rough week.

for a serious team that want to easily qualify for the next round, getting a draw is not a good result to be proud of because it only places them at a very dangerous place where they will have no choice than play with everything in them in the leg of the game. we all know hoe manchester united can concede some silly goals through there defensive errors, what happens if on the said day something goes wrong and they concede first and their opponent goes back to defend? you have to be at two goals up in the first leg so you enjoy the second leg without serious pressure. even with the stats and the fact that united are the better team, we cant still make it look too certain that they can win the second leg. no one comes into a major tournament as this to play, that they where able to get a draw in the first leg will give them the mind that such is possible for the second leg.

Viktoria Plzen Vs Lazio was pretty dramatic. Lazio scored an opener early on, Viktoria equalised in the 53rd, then Lazio lost 2 men due to red cards in 77th and 90+3 but, despite being down to 9 men, they scored a winner in the last seconds.
I've only watched short highlights so have no idea what those 2 red cards were for and whether or not they were deserved.

Isn't the highlight also show the two red cards? the two red cards are well deserved, the first one Rovella kick Viktoria Plzen player's face and the second one Gigot tackling and hit Viktoria Plzen player's leg instead of the ball.

Although Lazio wasn't the team that people predict to be a champion, but they show the biggest effort compared to other teams.

Quite surprising to see the results, teams like Fenerbahce, Athletic Club, and Ajax lose in the first leg.

I was impressed by what Lazio played yesterday, I wasn't expecting anything again after the second red card but they proved to Viktoria Plzen that no matter the red card they can still survive. This is a total humiliation for Viktoria Plzen from Lazio, this alone have shown the outcome of the second leg even though they haven't play it.

I wasn't happy with Ajax and Fenerbahce because they hosted the opponent but failed to perform well, I don't have any hope in the second leg. As for Athletic Club they can still make a u-turn but it's still under probability since they will be hosting.

Manchester United got the lead but I was quite sceptical that they might lose the lead which they did eventually by a penalty kick and  thereby getting an away draw which is fair enough especially from the fact they got some senior players absent on the game.

1-1 draw at the end. If Real Sociedad were able to play a little better they could have won as well. But I still think they were the better side in this match. They are just not as good as they were in the previous season. They aren't able to score that easy. They still have a chance to come back from this though. Just because it's going to be at Old Trafford nothing is near guaranteed. You know Manchester United this season.  

They are even in a worse shape in their domestic league and not much different in the Europa League too. I would never bet on them in the 2nd leg. There are many trash players in their squad. They should get rid of them first this summer.

I thought I am the only one that saw this when it happens, I was really pissed off yesterday when dalot fail to cross that ball to Hojlund, because if he had crossed the ball, that would have been the first goal of Manchester united, how can the decision making of someone playing in such level this poor?
People that doesn't knows football will start blaming coach if they had loss the game, without knowing that most of the players at his disposal are of less quality and that isn't up to the standard of playing for Manchester united.
As for the reverse fixture coming up a few weeks time, it's still an open game no doubt about that, and Manchester united is going to be at an advantage since they are playing at home, but in other for them to win this real sociedad side, they must be in their best possible form because this real sociedad side is also in a very good form, and this kind of opportunities that presents itself that dalot wasted should be best utilized, if not, they might pay for every wrong decision making or incompetency from decisions like this that dalot wasted, so they really need to be at the top of their game if they want to progress to the next stage of the competition.

This is becoming so annoying, these so called professional players are playing a role in destroying this team with a great history but then the coaches would carry all the blame and get sacked in the end , it's been going on an on for years and many coaches have been sacked due to poor performance and decision making of some set of players, they are not helping the coach to make this team get better. I won't be among those fans that would rush to shout Amorim out on the media after the end of the season if things doesn't go well cause it's clear that several Manchester United players wants him to fail, here is another instance, Garnacho had two way opportunity to either pass to Hodjlund or the captain Bruno Fernandes but what did he do, he choose to hit the side netting not even finding a target or passing to the well positioned players to score. Manchester United had several opportunities to win that game but some players were not helping, like I said in my previous post, "I feel pity for Amorim" and I hope he gets a massive clear out during the summer, that's if the board doesn't end up sacking him like they did to other previous coaches in the past.

Looking at the statistics, Manchester United have a higher chance of winning if they can attack strongly in the second leg. And if Man United cannot manage their game properly, they will lose hope of winning against Real Sociedad. Since Real  Sociedad is currently playing very well, Manchester United will have to go into their game with confidence. Since the results of the two teams are currently equal, the one who can go ahead by scoring goals will win the next match and qualify for the next round. If Manchester United focuses more on the Europa League, they can reach the final but their game will have to improve, otherwise it is not possible.

A late penalty ended all hopes of victory. Manchester United got off to a good start in their Europa League first leg against Real Sociedad and scored a stunning goal within minutes of the game. Since Manchester United did not take much time to score, I thought that the goal difference might increase and Manchester United might win this match by a big margin, but Manchester United attacked in the later periods and did not really succeed.   

In the end we saw Manchester United and Real Sociedad leave the field with a 1-1 draw. As the result of the first leg match was a draw, the second leg match will be like the final match for these two teams. That is, the team that wins the second leg match will confirm the next round of the European League. 
Expectations were always high from Manchester United but they did not perform as expected in the first leg match but they must perform better in the second leg match. If they make a mistake in the second leg, this team's Europa League dream will be over in an instant

I don't think so. There were surprises in the matches played. Mostly the Fenerbahçe match, I was surprised to see them lose against Rangers on their own turf. And I was also surprised in the Victoria Plzen vs Lazio game, what a dramatic win for Lazio I never imagined them capable of drawing let alone winning even with two red cards. This result showcase their resilience and determination in high stake matches.

Lazio is a club to watch out for in this competition, I feel that they will advance to the finals. I don't see any as desperate as they're. I never expected them to be able to win Plzen, shit happens. It means that Plzen will not survive in the swcond leg away from home.

Fenerbahce is a big disappointment, because I expected something promising from them but they couldn't outsmart their visitors which led to their defeat.

Ajax lost surprised everyone yesterday, its a prove there soccer betting is a lucky game its just a team that is performancing well. Fernanacha losing too at home to Ranger by 3 goals to 1 was very embarrassing,  they don't stand a chance to lift the title, they were my favorite to lift the title this season.  With the look of things it will be luck for them to qualify. Rangers will be hosting them at home in the second leg.

Manchester United played very well last night, but as usual their poor strikers couldn't convert the goals with the chance their had. I predicted Real Sociedad to win with good margin, Manchester United defense was really solid to break through.  With this draw Manchester United will do well in the retuning leg at home by winning the game.

If he can get a defeat against Arsenal and a victory against Real Sociedad, looks to me like a good result. They need the Europa trophy badly because it's their golden ticket to the champions league. So I don't expect him to give much importance to the Arsenal game and to hand Chido Obi and Harry Amass their first premier league start in other to rest other players for the Real Sociedad 2nd leg game.

Right, Real Sociedad football team did goal at 70 minutes of the match. Oyarzabal was the person who did equal result of this match because he did goal when it was requirement of team and he did this goal at penalty . The possession percentage of Real Sociedad team was excellent in this match but they could not attack well in this match and we was draw result and both teams got 1,1 point in this match. The posses of Real Sociedad team were 446 in this match and that was excellent and pass accuracy was also good but they need to work on their weaknesses to get good position .Zirkzee was the person who made excitement in this match because he did goal at the start of second half . The passes of Manchester United were low in number.
