Yesterday was a real blow for Roma because no one expected what then turned out to be a nightmare. Out of superstition, I didn't say anything in the days leading up to the match but I had great faith in them. The fact that Hummels got that red card was the most horrible thing I've ever seen in all my years of football. Even then, Roma tried their best to draw the match. But Athletic Bilbao players attacked a lot in this match. Bilbao players performed very well. Roma failed to resist Bilbao's attacks until the end.

I too hadn't hoped Roma to be defeated as such and had predicted it to go into the quarterfinals. But what was evident from yesterday's match was Athletic Club was the better performer with full control over the game. The only goal from Roma came as a penalty in the injury time. Furthermore, Athletic Club has got one of the easiest competitor for quaterfinals. That means they are almost sure to go to the semis. Other games went as predicted, Lazio getting an easier opponent while Tottenham vs Frankfurt and Manchester United vs Lyon is going to be tough ones.

In the first leg, AS Roma was quite advantaged because since the 85th minute Atletico only played with 10 men, so AS Roma was able to score another goal before the match really ended.

Meanwhile, the second match might be more difficult, because AS Roma will be visiting the opponent's headquarters. They can no longer hope that there will be luck that benefits them, Ranieri's team really has to fight even harder to be able to maintain their advantage in order to advance to the next round.

It's Athletic Bilbao, not Atletico Madrid.

Bilbao played very well at Olimpico stadium last week and they nearly left it with a draw, but the second yellow card and a red card made disadvantage in about last 10 minutes of the match. It's impressive that AS Roma attacked very intensively and well in those last minutes, by creating enough pressure and chances. The winning goal comes at very last second but it doesn't mean before that moment, Roma did not create any chance.

Even so, they managed to get a win in the first leg and the victory gave Roma a slight advantage to play much better in the second leg. The challenge in the second leg is indeed not easy because they will play at the opponent's home so the pressure will certainly be much greater. If they want to qualify for the next round, Roma must be able to make a difference because Athletic Bilbao themselves will definitely try to put pressure on them in the early minutes of the match.

Advantage is small and AS Roma can see how Liverpool was eliminated by PSG and Real Madrid had a very difficult match with Atletico Madrid after winning their first leg matches. Bilbao are strong and can do well like PSG and Atletico Madrid in Champions League, and this match can be decided by penalty shootouts too.

Roma only need a draw in Bilbao to move to quarter finals but this task is not easy by playing at Bilbao home stadium and a lot of pressure on the pitch and on stadium too. Ranieri with his experience can guide his players to keep their cold heads in this tough match, and if players fail to stay calm, they will have risk of losing this match in Bilbao.

Actually it was very obvious that Roma were going to face lots of problems playing against Athletic Bilbao who are at an extraordinary form at the moment as far as this tournament is concerned, right now in this tournament I can categorically state that they are one of the favorites alongside Manchester united and Real betis too, and if you can remember vividly, you would notice that Spanish clubs often dominate this tournament and from the inception of this particular fixture between AS Roma and Athletic Bilbao, it was quite clear that Bilbao would go through and they didn't disappoint the home fans.

Manchester United make me proud at night, they outshined Real Sociedad by beating them by 3 goals to 1. Thanks the magic captain Bruno Fernández performance he was so good in the spot scoring two goal form the spot to complete gia hattrick. At first I thought Real Sociedad would defeat Manchester United home and away, but Manchester United surprised me in the first and second legs of the game. I'm happy they are making the fans to be happy at home again. If they continue in this form, they could win the title and qualify for the champions league next season. This is the only trophy that can save them to play in Europe next year if they can win it.

Fernanach vs Rangers. Mourinho men did well in the first and second halves they dominated the game and scored two goals to equalised the 3:1 aggregate. But lost on the penalties, mourinho has always  been unlucky in penalties shootout, out of 12 in his career. He has won only 3, lost 9. I wanted Fernananche vs Manchester United finals.

Roma's game result was indeed an unexpected one, they would have had a good game if not for Hummel's red card. No one expected the game to end the way it ended. Roma tried to stop Athletic Bilbao dangerous runs but due to the absence of one man it was very difficult for them to do so. The unpredictable things that happens in football especially that of Roma yesterday makes football  different from other sports.

This like what i have said in the past about how Bruno was the only one who carried the club. He scored a lot, and created so many assists, but people rooted him as the main problem in the club. He also being labelled as "The problem".

He's the only consistent player owned by Manchester United. I wonder whey he always called him as the main problem. He's very unlucky to have mediocre team.

I have never heard anyone call Bruno Fernandes the problem of Manchester United United, if anyone did, they need to apologise to Bruno. The only crime of Bruno Fernandes is playing for an inconsistent Manchester United. If Bruno had played for a better side in Europe, he should have been a candidate for Balloon d'Or. I say it that Bruno is in the class of Toni Krus of Real Madrid. I feel like crying when people with poor football knowledge compare him with Odegard.

Bruno is the most hardworking and the most consistent Manchester United player of the recent time. Currently, he is the only world class player in the team.

I hope Man United can maintain their current performance. It may not have been their best performance, but they showed good progress after being knocked out of the FA Cup. The change that was quite obvious was when they played against Arsenal where they played quite aggressively, and most importantly, they really meant to win, and were willing to try their hardest to get it. Likewise, what was shown when they beat Sociedad, it was very clear that they wanted to win, and they chased the ball wherever it went.

In football, no team should be underestimated, the game can turn at any time in any situation. Many criticized Manchester United a lot that they would lose against the real sociedad, but it was completely the opposite, rather Manchester United entered the quarter-finals. On the other hand, Real Sociedad also got 1 red card received by Jon Aramburu player with defender position and made Real Sociedad game weak in defense, I very happy with the 4 - 1 winning achieved by Manchester United today and they really proved that there is determination in an effort to win the championship title.

Real Sociedad was a very strong opponent. However, Manchester United managed to eliminate them and advance to the next round. Their current opponents, Lyon, are a weaker team than Sociedad in my opinion. So I don't think Manchester United will have a hard time in this matchup. Manchester United can win this tournament if they are lucky. So far, things have gone their way.

when Real Sociedad hosted Man united Real Sociedad failed to win the match to the maximum because the result had to be satisfied with a 1-1 draw and now in the 2nd leg at Old Trafford Man United really showed their greatest ability they really appeared confident in the match and in terms of mentality they were also very great the proof after Man United conceded a goal through Oyarzabal in the 10th minute but Man United was still able to reply goals through Bruno Fernandes and Dalot which finally Man United could win with a score of 4-1.

Bruno Fernandes is often used as a scapegoat when Man United does not play as expected because what they see is that Bruno looks arrogant and forces his shot attempts. But I know the reason why Bruno did that, because none of the Man United strikers really have a clinical finish, so I think in conditions like that it's not wrong if Bruno tries to do that because he does have much better shooting accuracy than the strikers.

People also often see him complaining or being fussy, but I think this is very reasonable because he is a captain and he has to continuously motivate his teammates, and he must always stand in front when the referee makes a decision that is detrimental to them.

I am also sorry that Fenerbahce were eliminated so early, I was interested in watching them only because Mourinho was there, he has the talent to win trophies in the European Cups. Roma got a red card at the very beginning of the match and gave the victory to Athletic Bilbao, it looks like some kind of sabotage, but on the other hand Bilbao had much more ambitions for the Europa League, because the Final will be held on their field, I think they hope to win this cup.

Mourinho really played all his cards or maybe not all of them.    I mean Livakovic might have been preferred over İrfan during penalty shootouts. He is really great at saving penalties. Above all else, they paid for their clumsiness after making it 2-0.

But I assume Rangers would still be one step ahead. Because Fenerbahçe are terrible with taking penalties. Even a player like Tadic couldn't score it. I don't know maybe a huge lack of motivation there.

Sure manchester united really possessed real socieded in the second half of the game, you know manchester united had the opportunity to win this match with more goals but they couldn't utilize it. obviously I think the match would've ended with the score of 2:1 if not for the two penalties because manchester united was finding it very hard to score. Not that they were not given the opportunity, of course they had series of opportunities. just imagine rasmus who happens to be a striker did not even make any impact. I think the coach need to look for a good striker, because is obvious that they don't have One.

I doubted Manchester United and I personally said that Real Sociedad was going to knock out Manchester United before the game in the tie started, but after i saw their performance Vs Real Sociedad in Spain then I saw for sure that Manchester were really going to be the ones to knock out Real Sociedad. During the game at Reale Arena last week, I saw how Manchester United played but were unlucky to have won that game that was when I was convinced the game will go in their favour at home when Real Sociedad comes to England
