Maybe Nigerian players respect foreign coaches more than the indigenous coaches, we will see how Eguavoen will handle this team through the games. I am not expecting them to win the games though.  I feel like there is too much drama in the team for the months after the last AFCON for the players to feel and have that team cohesion. The season in their respective leagues have just started, no player wants to get injured.

I am learning about it now that you mentioned Eguavoen  to be the new head coach to replace Labbadia who reportedly rejected the Super Eagles offer as head coach.

According to reports coming from Germany, Labbadia has reportedly rejected the position of head coach of the Super Eagles.

Augustine Eguavoen has been selected to lead Nigeria in the important games we have this month on the 7th and 10th against Benin and Rwanda. I am scared because he has failed Nigerians before, in 2022, when we could not make qualification for the World Cup.

Notwithstanding to this, I think Eguavoen is picked out of a hurry to replace Labbadia since the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations(AFCON) is at hand. A coach has to be in charge rather than going for another coach's selection, which will take time to pick the right one.

I think the NFF wants to give Eguavoen all reasonable doubt and support that he will make the Super Eagles qualify for the World Cup and AFCON.

It's not about respect. There is delusion that foreign coaches are moe better than Nigerian coaches. And the team would rather take instructions from a foreigner than from a local Nigerian. Another thing is most times Nigerian coaches are not chosen based on experience and level of skill but on appointment and connection. No team would want to lose in a competition and if Nigeria wants to win in competitions then they need the best coach since we have the players.

Also there has been rumors on different occasions on how local coaches takes bribe from players to invite them to the national team, but you will never hear that the foreign coaches are involved in this practice, because they have integrity and our home grown coaches don't. If the local Coach wants respect from the players then he should focus on utilizing home based players.

Drogba was a better player than Mo Salah, forget the stats bro because if we're looking at stats only, Nicolas Jackson has been a decent striker for Chelsea and better than most strikers on the market just looking at stats. But football isn't about stats only, we're looking at their all-round play and Drogba  was that guy. He won't ghost you in finals and always turn up when his team needs him. Beside that, Drogba played during the peak days of football with better defenders than we have nowadays. That's the fact and this doesn't happen only in football but generally in the country. Get yourself a foreigner as a manager of your business observe how the other staffs treat him. We have the behaviour that makes us think the white are better than us at everything because we think they know better but they're not superior. Everyone knows Chelsea is a bigger club than Galatasaray, but Galatasaray is also one of the biggest clubs in Turkey and Osimhen is going to shine there. Galatasaray are covering his salary of €10m per season, i don't really know where you are getting your numbers from.

I agree with you that the amount of wages Chelsea were willing to pay Osimhen was not reasonable. Chelsea are a big club no doubt. But the current condition of this group is not good. They needed a player like Osimhen. So when Chelsea need Osimhen, how can this club pay such low wages? Chelsea should have paid Osimhen higher wages. And a player as talented as Osimhen certainly deserves high wages.

Maybe Osimhen won't get high wages with galatasaray. But I would say it's better for Osimhen to play with Galatasaray than play for Chelsea on such low wages. I say this because Osimhen will be a free agent next season. And Osimhen will get higher wages and bonuses at the club he joins next season. If Galatasaray will be offering Osimhen this pay per season, that’s like him getting the same pay he was receiving at Napoli. I feel this is the best move and it shows that Galatasaray values him more as Napoli or any other club that came for him did. He’s going to shine there, that’s the top team in the Turkish side, which such prestige the club has, Victor will try everything best to be at the top for his team and not let them down since they had trust in him to bring him in at this crucial time. I am happy for him, this doesn’t mean he won’t get to play for a big team again. If his performance there is great, he’ll get good offers from big team. Napoli contract is just left with one year, he’ll be free with them at the end of his loan term and they’ll neither get even the amount other clubs came to offer for him initially when his contract expires with them without moving to another team.

I'm never one to compare players from different eras and in different teams, different contrasts but I'm not exactly sure I'd say there were better defenders then than now. Harder, yes, tougher, yes, but am almost certain today's breed of defenders are the speediest and most positionally aware. I've seen Ferdinand, Carragher, Neville (the Prem defenders of Drogba's era I can think of) who many times admitted they're not sure they could deal with today's modern forwards. Different requirements.

Lest we forget, Drogba was an out-and-out striker, Salah a winger. So stats-wise already you can't really put them side-by-side (even if Salah probably has a lot more goal contributions), plus we also can't be looking at Nicolas Jackson's couple of seasons, it's the long-term average we need to be looking at.

Drogba played when Chelsea were the dominant force, in the richest Prem club of that era, flanked by the best money could by. Salah played when City were an even more dominant steamroller, competing with other wealthier clubs, and surrounded only by similarly overperforming mid-class players.

We probably agree though, both great players. We only disagree if they are comparable (I don't think they are).

P.S. Eto'o should have played in Prem in his prime, I think he might have blasted Drogba out of the water. Chelsea never offered Victor Osimhen £325,000. He would have moved to the club if they put that price on the table. The amount they offered looked to me like an insult to the personality of Victor. I think coach Enzo Maresca is not motivated to get the current African Footballer of the Year. My guess might be right because of his comments that he would only work with a player who accepts the club's terms. If a coach is desperate to have a player he would have pushed the management to do all they can.

It is also noteworthy that Osimhen will not be earning €100,000,000 in Galastataray; rather, he will be paid the same salary he earns in Napoli. The Turkish League is not that bad. It might not be more competitive like the English League but it is better than the Saudi Professional League. in an ideal case, the best coach that suits the kind of competition we're going into should be a local coach that understands the nature of African football and that have one or two African teams in the past. International exposure is good for most coaches and helps them train players well but that's not enough for the African football setting. The pattern of ball that is played in Europa isn't same with what's happening at AFCON. A country like south Africa that has most of her teammates that are product of her local league will be deficult to go against if a supposed experience coach brings a strategy that's applicable for the European setting. At the time of when Gernot Rohr or José Peseiro were the head coach of the super eagles, thier was obviously a combination of quality coaching experience from the head coach mixed with the local experience of the assistant he was working with. For the current interem coach and all the team I've seen in charge of the eagles, I don't see any form of experience in with them and except ghe players will just decide thay they have a reputation to protect and give in Thier all, the eagles might witness another struggle from Saturday.

Well I can't recalled the exact amount again and I think the amount Osimhen asked Chelsea to offered him was the £325,000 one I stated and the one which Chelsea offered him was about €140m. And he rejected the price. And as I said, I don't think Osimhen accept this new offer from Galatasaray with the mind that he wants to go to the club but because Napoli wanted him to go because they can't pay him when he is useless (as nothing to do) in the club again. So it is better for them to force him out so that they would not spend unnecessary on his head. And also most of your assertions are just prediction which might not happen though football itself is a game of prediction. Normally Lookman really made Africans proud in the last Europa league trophy because it's not just about winning the title with Atalanta but scoring a hat trick in that match was something that no player have succeeded in doing at an Europa league finals so it's a very big record he has set for himself and am not surprised about his normination for the Ballon D'Or. Seems Nigerians have been representing Africa in the nomination for the Ballon D'Or in recent times because last time was Victor Osimhen and now Ademola Lookman. Even though he might not win the award due to the fact that there are other players that has gotten better achievement than him and so making things are being put into consideration in awarding the balloon d'Or to a player but making it in the list is also a huge achievement for the Nigeria and Atalanta winger.

And even the clubs I prefer Chelsea more than Galatasaray. There are some clubs a player would join that would still killed his skills and career. Though if the team mates or squad is good, he can stand out again. But Galatasaray is not popular as Chelsea. And I think Galatasaray offered him €100,000,000. Well I wish him good luck.

Everyone knows Chelsea is a bigger club than Galatasaray, but Galatasaray is also one of the biggest clubs in Turkey and Osimhen is going to shine there. Galatasaray are covering his salary of €10m per season, i don't really know where you are getting your numbers from.

If Galatasaray will be offering Osimhen this pay per season, that’s like him getting the same pay he was receiving at Napoli. I feel this is the best move and it shows that Galatasaray values him more as Napoli or any other club that came for him did. He’s going to shine there, that’s the top team in the Turkish side, which such prestige the club has, Victor will try everything best to be at the top for his team and not let them down since they had trust in him to bring him in at this crucial time. I am happy for him, this doesn’t mean he won’t get to play for a big team again. If his performance there is great, he’ll get good offers from big team. Napoli contract is just left with one year, he’ll be free with them at the end of his loan term and they’ll neither get even the amount other clubs came to offer for him initially when his contract expires with them without moving to another team.

Galatasaray may not be very popular but we the kind of player we know victor Osimhen to be, he is going to shine in the league and if care is not taking the Club can even come out as the top for the season. The most important thing is for Victor Osimhen to be consistent with his performance,  it is not even about if the club is popular or not. If Victor Osimhen still remains good eyes will always be on him in the market,  this is just the most important thing. I think victor Osimhen is even happy to be in the new club because the pay here is even still reasonable amount for him.
