Africans hate their fellow Africans. No spirit of sportsmanship in them. For every little misunderstanding between them, they take it to heart to retaliate with such much hate therein within them. That's why progress and unity don't easily come among them. You can imagine the little misunderstanding that triggered Libya to treat Nigeria this way. By the way, what will the Nigerian government do? It's better that the matter is handed over to CAF, let them settle the dispute, and charge both parties for the acts of misconduct and lack of professionalism

North Africans see themselves as more Arabs than Africans. We all saw what played out when Morocco qualified for the semifinals in the last World Cup in Qatar. The Nigerian minister of sports said that he spoke with CAF president Patrice Motsepe and Secretary-General Mosengo Omba, and they insisted that the Super Eagles will have to play the match. If Nigeria is boycotting the match without the permission of the CAF, they might end up losing three points.

We are expecting to get CAF's position on this matter. And if the organization is fair, a rematch should be the least the Super Eagles should receive because, ideally, they deserve to get the three points.

You are pretty correct about North Africa seeing themselves as Arab rather than how they visualize themselves as Africans. They segregate themselves as Africans but prefer to call themselves Arab because their beliefs and way of reasoning are not the same as ours(blacks) when it comes to leadership and way of living.

However, I see this act of display by Libya as a payback for what they faced when they came to Nigeria. A Tunisia pilot has revealed how he was ordered by one of the top Libyan officials to change the Super Eagles flight route.

As it very is, CAF shouldn't talk about a rematch or whose county owns the 3 points, until when the matter has been addressed. Already, the Libya FA are talking about taking the NFF to court because of how they were first treated in Nigeria.

I completely do not agreed with this. The first arrangement was made and the decision between Nigeria and Libya was that Libya was supposed to land at UYO airport because that was where arrangement was made for them. But the pilot landed at Port Harcourt Airport. This made plans to change completely. Amidst NFF provided another plane which will take them directly to UYO from Port Harcourt but the Libya people refused. Then a well conducive bus was provided for them from Port Harcourt to take them to UYO with an escort.

You see there was security and other escort provided for them after the changes. But what the Libya did in return was intentional. The bus they provided was not secured and protected. They meant to payback.

Well spoken mate because if CAF has not been biased and compromised then this act by Lybia deserves some purnishment or sanctions. I just hope they revisit this matter because the ill treatment that the super eagles went through at Lybia is a dent to Nigeria at large and not only about the Super eagles alone. Since the match has now been postponed, CAF should make sure that everything are set in place before the day the match will be rescheduled and such thing should not repeat to any other African country again in the future.
        Asking for reimbursement for the expenses of the Super Eagles should be done by Lybian government because the humiliation is much. If Lybia experienced some kind of ill treatment upon their arrival to Nigeria in the first leg why not they channel their complaints to CAF instead of taking a retaliatory step, it's so unprofessional of the Lybian government.

African football will never grow with this kind of situation that keeps happening. CAF don't know what they are doing. If they can't take drastic action and put an end to these kind of things, others will still do the same next time. Libya should take the 3 points for all I care. If CAF cannot provide a conducive environment for people to play football there is no need of playing. Even if the match should go on the super eagles players won't concentrate anymore as their minds won't be on the game. With this kind of things happening will anyone still blame African players who choose to play for European countries? When the football governing body in the continent can't even stand firm with their rules and punish offenders. I wish the super eagles safe flight home.

This is actually unprofessional, and the worst decision a country like Libya could do to it's sister nation such as Nigeria, because in situations like this, I expected the organizers of AFCON to have come to an aid by calling the president of Libya to resolve all issues before it got to the media amicably, but it's obvious they decided to keep mute, and allow it longer this level, because if the Super Eagles come back tomorrow without playing this game, it will really mean a big slap to the Nigerian Football Federation, and it's organizers AFCON at large.

Even Nigeria too has lost his respect by having bad leaders. When a country has a bad leader this is what happens. Libya know that Nigeria would not do anything and that was why they did it. Bad leaders and fail continent. CAF should have alternative ways to remedy such situation in next time.

In fact, these are not isolated cases and we are used to their recurrence periodically in all countries of the continent. The closest clear example of this was the last African Cup of Nations in Cameroon and all the poor organization and mismanagement it witnessed. Therefore, African football faces major challenges due to the unstable political, social and economic situations in many countries. These challenges are manifested in the spread of administrative corruption, violence in stadiums, lack of investment, and the migration of talent. These factors combined lead to a decline in the level of national teams and clubs, the decline of the game's popularity, and the deterioration of the sports economy. To solve these crises, corruption must be combated, sports infrastructure developed, cadres trained, international cooperation enhanced, and the public educated about the importance of clean sport. I know this is so far to be true but there is no other strategy to maintain an honorable compitition.

Why blame CAF? We can all blame them for other reasons but the issue with Libya who knows if they’re involved because after reading I didn’t see anywhere the CAF where at fault rather Libya lacks the ability to host any team neither coordinate a football invent, probably they’re showing the dark side for a reason. This investigation will not do any good. We are in Africa and here corrupt governments can bribe whatever they want. At the Libyan airport, for example, the Libyan government can instruct airport officials to say that everything went well and that there were only a few small, unintentional mistakes that resulted in the misunderstanding with the Nigerian delegation. The CAF will close the investigations and will not punish Libya, but will reschedule the game for another date. Similar cases have happened a lot in Africa and the CAF does not punish anyone.

Not trynna be sentimental. But if they Libya knowing they doesn’t have the required amenities to participate in the tournament shouldn’t be looking for something to blame for their poor hospitality. Yeah bribe can be very common in all the African government but I believe this case will be a different one because had it been that it was just a case of two or four hours stranded on their airport it would have been very understandable to everyone but in this case they were held till the next morning without even occurring to them that the super eagles will need to have enough rest before they will have the strength to play the match the next day.

So I don't think it will work even if their government wants to bribe their way out because in as much as corruptions are everywhere but in football their are good level of discipline and less corruption because already everybody is fully aware of the whole situation so they will investigate properly with a fair judgement, however if they find the Libyan team guilty they may even decide to give the super eagles their 3 points as a punishment to the Libya.

The right thing to do in situation like this is to conduct an investigation before a rematch and that's if the alleged poor treatment by the super eagles are false. But of course, that's no the case, the evidence is overwhelming and it was indeed a deliberate and intentional act by the Libyans to weaken the morale of the super eagles. I also watched the pilot's account of the story, and I'd say these guys are heartless for diverting the plane to an abandoned airport with no air safety system in place like navigation approach and instrument landing system to assist the pilot in landing safely. This is indeed the height of wickedness that they didn't even consider the lives and safety of the passengers onboard.

There's no way this would happen in other parts of the world like europe and the accused nation would walk scot free. If a rematch is what CAF is saying right now, then its really disheartening to hear and I'll not expect any meaningful outcome from the investigation.

About the AFCON 2025 in Morocco, CAF  has decided that following the Nigerian National Football Team ordeal in Libya, the match will be played in Angola.

CAF sanctions Libya $10M for damages.

Ban Libya from playing any home games in Libya until 2026.

Lastly, they promised to Ban Libya from all football activities for two years if such incident repeats itself in the future.
