Congratulations to the Flying Eagles for their victorious outing. So far, our under 20 team have been up and doing from the very beginning and I have noticed that these young lads try their very best to making sure they are always victorious but once they cross to senior team, they start misbehaving. I am still wondering if our senior team could be and play like the under 20 team as they were before they were promoted to the senior team.
Not about them misbehaving is the problem. The problem is whether that will be promoted to the senior team. If you check, you will record that for quite some time now, the under-20 teams are no longer selected(few of them) to join the senior team as we have them before during the time of Mikel Obi and Taiwo. So many of our under-20 teams have performed wonderfully in the past after Mikel Obi; but where were they today after displaying wonders in the field of play in the under-20 AFCON tournament? I am sure that for each given under 20 AFCON tournament, we must have at least 3-4 players that had fantastic performances in the AFCON under-20 tournaments.

Where are they currently? That's the question I keep asking. If you check the current squad of Super Eagles, most of them are not gotten from our under-20 team. They were players who had made a name for themselves in football already, from international football. The coach and NFF invited them over to form the Super Eagles squad.
I think that promoting players from under 20 to the Super Eagle team is not effective at all, and I wonder why that is not happening. These under 20 players should be given the time to play with the senior team so that they can also make names for themselves. Look at Spain, they give chance to these younger players so that if the old ones are weak or not playing as expected, these young ones can be used to replace them. Most of the Nigeria senior players are already rich, and playing in good clubs which might make them have pride in them when playing for the Nation, but these young ones are not rich, and will go at any length to  put in their best performance while they are on the field. I think, the young ones are currently in charge of football.
The younger under 20 players might be in charge, in terms of their current victory in the WAFU tournament, still, they need more play time together and in other leagues both within and outside the country while they ensure they remain devoted to the national team.
It is when these younger players chase after the money in their career and abandon the national team just to be more devoted to their club sides, that is when the pride sets in.

If we actually want to see these younger players remain faithful to the national team, so much so that they can be considered a true replacement for the current super Eagles players, then there must be good incentives from the NFF and allowances paid on time with bonuses that show they care about the players warefare.

I was just coming to report the same stories as when I heard it this morning, I was devastated because what's Libya turning into. What's happening behind the screen if those on display as this bad.

When I heard about the maltreatment that people get in Libya, I always doubted them to be true but with this kind of stories, I now believe everything they did to the Super was preplanned and wasn't a mistake.

Initially thought this story was false when I saw it but now I believe everything. Nigerian in Libya need to be be very careful and mind the ways they come outside presently. Soon we might begin to see stories of Nigerian being killed for just a game and not like they did anything wrong.
Iys really sad we are having to this to ourselves as Africans, this is an issue that was brought to the governing body in charge and they now took an action that they believe is necessary but they rather decide to take actions against innocent Nigerians who has no hand in this, there should be diplomatic agreements reach as it regards this before it turns out to something else, it's high time the Nigerian government take an action before it builds up to something else probably a xenophobic attack may surface if this continues.

Flying eagles emerge U20 WAFU cup champions.

Our young under 20 flying eagles have defended thier tile and are yet again the under 20 WAFU cup champions.

This came After an impressive victory over Ghana on Wednesday night under the floodlights in Lome, Togo with a first-half brace from BEYOND LIMITS FOOTBALL ACADEMY'S Kparobo Arierhi.

What this means is that the Flying Eagles have confirmed their place in the U-20 AFCON that will take place in South Africa next year.
The Nija junior and senior team is making the country proud.

When I heard the news that our beloved Flying Eagles retained the U20 WAFU Cup this year, I was thrilled. They truly deserved the trophy, given their outstanding performance throughout the competition. I’m also delighted to see both the Flying Eagles and the Super Eagles doing so well at the moment. I hope that the current Super Eagles coach considers taking a close look at this U20 team, selecting a few players to promote to the senior squad, rather than relying on foreign-based players who may not be fully committed to representing Nigeria.

The entire football body in Nigeria witnesses a significant reforms lately and with the changes in the management and technical team's, the football body expected this significant winning for the Engles this is Indeed a good time to lift the trophy for even with the inhuman treatment from Libyans government the team were still able to manage through and winning this season, this Indeed a big congratulations for us.

Well with your suggestions that the head coach should consider transferring younger player's who are qualified to be on the main team to take position rather than relying on external player's, well that I good one because it will save money and also increase performance, since we have some local players who are doing incredibly well in the various levels.

I hope this get to the appropriate sectors that is responsible, for player's transfer, enough of over reliance on foreign player's, because at some point, the performance are not too encouraging compared to locally sourced player's.

Will the Nigeria government give a fuck? They'll say the usual thing they say all the time that they didn't ask us to travel out of the country and the best thing that'll happen is to bring back Nigerian in Libya back to Nigeria to suffer the same thing we're experiencing here.

Nigerian over there will prefer to stay in Libya as it gives them an opportunity to travel out of Africa than to come back home. News outlets are reporting that the Federal Government has denied a threat to the security of Nigerians in Libya following a recent ruling by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in favour of Nigeria.

No investigation is being carried out but just politicians doing damage control and calming the citizens down while people die for no reasons.

Libya has always had bad reputation against others Africans, they don't treat us as Human being therefore I'm not surprised with all that I'm hearing.

This is just the sad truth, really. I remember when the Ukrainian war just started then, and there was a plane to bring Nigerians home; some people skipped it on purpose and rather fancied their chances relocating to nearby countries and trying to survive there rather than back home. Our politicians have messed things up.

Thanks to social media, if the oppression becomes more serious on Nigerians and life-threatening, we will surely see an update on it from those there, not waiting for our government to cook up lies.

This is what you see when the politicians of a certain country has made her citizens to choose suffering in another country rather than coming home knowing that the suffering in the country they are can not be compared to what they will face when they return back home. The case you mentioned about most Nigerians who rather pushed their way to other near by countries to get greener pasture when their was war in Ukraine is a typical example of what is currently happening now in Libya. Most Nigerians over there will rather remain there and take the risk of hardship till they move from there to another country because staying in Libya is better than coming back home since they have nothing to do here since the economy only favours the politicians a d their families.

The social media has been a major tool that has helped in knowing what is happening around the world I believe one way or the other we will definitely get information when the problem becomes too much.

You can see how resentful people have become do to the system failure caused by the people who believe that they hold the power of the country, however on the issue of Ukrainian war it took them a very long time before they even managed to send a plane to their citizens who resides there and before they even send the plane a lot of people had made up their mind not coming back to the country, so you can imagine how serious it is for somebody to chose staying back to a country that's currently at war than coming back to the country.

Actually if there is any part of the social media I'm so much grateful is the information aspects of it and the Nigerians outside are always good in updating information and things that's happening to them over there, so that the government will see what they have subjugated people into.

Nigerian over there will prefer to stay in Libya as it gives them an opportunity to travel out of Africa than to come back home.

We have many people there that are living there for years and don't have the right papers which means they are illegal migrants, no matter how tense oversea becomes the least option they will ever think is coming back home because where are you starting from and how are you going back when you don't have the papers? You might even be ban if they do some documentations of people that comes back to Nigerian and it will show you don't have papers to even travel.

This Lybia and Afcon matter no be small thing, probably the government didn't send some or the people doing this pushing, it's because they are mad over the decision of the Afcon to fine them but they are just setting their self up for more opportunities because why chase out people that live on your country. It the table were to turn, they now will beg Nigerians our revenge bad.

The situation of the country is so messed up and things are so bad that even in this situation that the Libyan government are maltreating Nigerians in their country, some Nigerians would still not come back as they have already established there and would pay anything just to make sure they gain their way because if they return, what provision have already being put in place to assist them start up life again as the case maybe. Some would prefer to relocate to other nearby country if they see the opportunity just as you have said.

Hopefully, if anything happens any further, I believe Nigerians over there would make it more visible for the world to see and know how our government is handling the situation.

It the table were to turn, they now will beg Nigerians our revenge bad.

Something funny is that here in my country, Mozambique, 5 years ago we had many Nigerians, they are traders. So when there is a game between Nigeria and my country, the stadiums are full of people from Nigeria and I laugh a lot about it. And also something funny is that it is difficult to find a Nigerian who is in my country and is not a trader and I am noticing that every year the number of Nigerians in my country is decreasing to the point that I even thought they are leaving because Nigeria is doing well economically.

Since I do not know how the economy is doing in Nigeria, I can only guess. But something unbelievable is that when I saw many Nigerians as owners of supermarkets in my country, we consumed good quality products, but with the departure of Nigerians, citizens of Asian origin and Rwandans are appearing who have great difficulty in speaking Portuguese and are not selling bad quality products.

And they are there for several reasons even though they fancy the prospect of leaving to a better country from there, another reason why they wouldn't want to return home even when there is a free opportunity is the shame that they are going to return with nothing and they'll be laughed at by their family and friends. That they will be a laughing stock. That is the one that scares them the most that after 15 years of being outside the country, there is nothing to show for it.

That's Nigeria for us, we have lot of people living as immigrants in other countries.. mostly due to the hard economic situation we found our selfs. You see on TV most time during some important match Nigerans are still there to represent their country.. alot of Nigerias pays money just to go watch match's oversee.. though I know these are the rich or average folks who just want to go out form the fun of it.. Nigeria is a Blessing land with blessed people.. we are hardworking but then the government make it seem more like our efforts are not worth it.

Looking at the reason you have stated for which some Nigerians wouldn't want to come back home, in as much as they could actually be a reason for some of them over there, I don't see it as wise enough because how would you want to continually endanger your life because of you don't want to be seen as a failure, or the would rather die there? It's really sad how some persons don't even consider themselves that much anymore but to use trivial excuses and reasons as such to get stucked, but if the reason is to further migrate to a better place, I do find that as a good idea but they should make sure to move already and not continue in an unwelcoming environment.

I don't want to make this political thread but I'm definitely going to say this. Are you in Nigeria? Don't you see things that are happening? Bro, it hasn't been easy for everyone to be honest, things are hard, as a working class person, you can't even buy a bag of rice, that's 150k. Anyone that is staying outside the country and they know can survive there, they better stay there and find alternative to what is happening rather than come back to Nigeria.

If the government is  protecting and care about her citizens, they should by now make an official statement about what Lybia is doing but instead they stay mute. Hopefully CAF and other football bodies are watching so they can further take another punishment on their players. Football is meant to be entertainment, not got war, not for competition, not for beef or any personal interest but Libya took it personal this time around.

Nigerians are all over the countries even places that are war torn they are there.
Some war-torn nations are better than Nigeria. Some of these warring nations have constant power supply, welfare packages and good amenities. The only challenge is that living there is risky. Many Nigerians in Afghanistan, Syria, Ukraine and Lebanon have refused to come back because of poor economic conditions. Nigeria is not fighting a war but the number of people dying from accidents caused by bad roads, kidnapping, human trafficking and human part harvesting is greater than the number of people who are in war-torn nations.

Most Nigerians in Libya will be willing to suffer intimidated there than to return to return home. I suspect that Libyans will resume hostility if they lose the appeal. The best solution is to use dialogue because Nigeria will be adversely affected since many Libyans don't reside in Nigeria.

Nigerian over there will prefer to stay in Libya as it gives them an opportunity to travel out of Africa than to come back home.
This is just the sad truth, really. I remember when the Ukrainian war just started then, and there was a plane to bring Nigerians home; some people skipped it on purpose and rather fancied their chances relocating to nearby countries and trying to survive there rather than back home. Our politicians have messed things up.

The sad reality of life is just that most of the victims of circumstances like this are mostly the poor and the vulnerable people in the society as the rich will always have an escape root. We can't blame those who are adamant about their security and safety in other countries because even in Nigeria, the security of her citizens is not guaranteed so people in the diaspora will literally want to face their fate over there than plan on evacuating back to the country. Some people outside the country sold all they've got just to travel out for a greener pastures so if they are to return, what have they got to start up life again since the government cannot even lend a helping hand to them if they should return, such unfortunate situation.

Quote
Thanks to social media, if the oppression becomes more serious on Nigerians and life-threatening, we will surely see an update on it from those there, not waiting for our government to cook up lies.

Same here, because if not for social media, people would have really been misled by the government on information that concerns her citizens.

This is it. Africans have no single love for each other. How could the Libyan government think about this, to arrest Nigerian citizens in their country? Can this kind of mass arrest be done to US citizens or any European citizens, even Asia citizens in Libya? The way a government of a country treats and holds its citizens in high regard will determine how another country will treat them. Since our government doesn't hold much regard for us, that's why other countries choose to do whatever they like with us, believing that they will go away with it because our government doesn't hold much value about us.

That being said, if our government does hold us in high esteem, this kind of bullshit acts other countries try on Nigeria wouldn't be happening. Checkout, has the Nigerian government cautioned the Nigerian government of this act of their "mass arrest" against Nigerian citizens? Is it not to tell you how Nigeria's government cares less about their citizens in other countries.

It's hard time for the Nigerian government to step up in protecting the interests and affairs of Nigerians in other countries because this is getting too much. It's not every little thing that happens between Nigeria and other countries; the citizens of Nigeria in those countries will be the ones to pay for it. That's bad and unacceptable for Nigerians

News: Victor Osimhen is back to Super Eagles squad for upcoming AFCON Qualifiers.

Watch him play yesterday then I understood why we haven't been that confident in goal because our main man wasn't available. He might not be the one scoring for Nigeria when we play but his presence on the pitch drags the defenders towards him and gives room for other to do damage.

I didn't notice that when Victor Boniface was leading the line. Anybody watch Osimhen play last night against Tottenham. He would have gotten more than the two goals that he got. Always available as a typical striker and gets lots of chance but missed them.

Some offside calls but still was a good night for him. Only now hoping he doesn't gat another injury if he gets playing time in their next match so he can be available for the super eagles game coming up.

You have same understanding with me about Victor Osimhen because regardless of his pompous or unapologetic nature, the dude is Super good and he has a very strange influence that even though he may not make much impact in some matches but he has this spirit of motivation in him. The only problem with Africans is that they judge too quickly but if you watch the westerners, no matter the arrogance of their players they still accord them much respect. I also watched him play for Galatasaray against Tottenham yesterday and when i saw the Galatasaray fans chant his name, i was so amazed that Nigeria is really blessed to have such a striker including Victor Boniface and Ademola Lookman who are doing great jobs in their respective clubs. Now that Victor Osimhen is back, we should be expecting some good energy among the Super Eagles players again. Hope he maintains fitness till Nigeria will have a match to play so that he can take path in the game.
