Unreal.  Not only will you never profit from an X-3, now it poses a potential fire hazard and health risk running it from home.

Speechless, at this level of incompetence.

I'm contemplating if I should start solo mining with my 2 x1's and hope I get lucky.  I can't sell them on ebay, they make less than a dollar a day mining on a pool and my power is cheap so it won't cost me much.  I know the chance of finding a block is slim at best but it's starting to look like the best option.

Wow, that's a bargain!   Roll Eyes

At least, they don't have a MOQ of 10 like they did on the X-1s.

Can't even check their own website for typos and obvious errors.

We agree that this is a serious concern and we are examining right now what is the best option to proceed. At this point we are no longer shipping X3 until we find the exact cause.

Customers that already have X3s are adviced to shut them down and wait for further instructions.

On the hashboard there are no electrolytic capacitors. Everything is solid. They cannot explode with flame.

This 1500uF electrolytic capacitor ended on this board by mistake: We have added it while trying to debug the noise in the SPI and forgot to delete it from the BOM. By the time we got the backplanes they were already mounted. We did not think that it might be a problem and we were pushed by you (customer) to ship asap therefore we have not removed them. Removing them would have caused at least 1 day delay.

We also don't need the 470uF solid capacitors from the backplane.

That is ofcourse bullshit and they know it..
they have a huge problem on their hands cause the machine is CE certified. that means that if something happend house on fire, human electrocution and its caused by the BA miner they are responsible !!

Authorities would ask the TCD files of the miners. (Technicel Construction Dossier) if is not complete our the product did not pass certain test well you will loss your balls ....

Why can't you ebay them? Mine showed up, ima use em until they are sold. I really came to terms about losing this money a few months ago so now i figure even if i can get SOMETHING for them it is still better than nothing.

I would also be careful selling these on Ebay, I am not totally sure what the policy is, but if you sell something that burns down someone's house or hurts someone, it may be you who is liable.  Again, not sure about that, but it is something I would look into before selling.
If you knowingly sell something on eBay that causes harm or property damage then the fault becomes yours even though BA is still liable for the original sale to you.

To be decided...

It is a good thing there is no known issue with the x1s, right? Because the issue is with the x-3. Chevy has an issue with luminas, doesn't mean all chevy cars are screwed..? Waahh waaahhh it's a fire hazzard. Yeah yeah, one dude, although to be fair it is most likely the one dude with all the x3s ba has shipped.

It has crossed my mind, that the company was so inept they couldn't deliver the item until umpteen number of months after their initial delay, that how could they possibly build anything that isn't going to maim or kill someone.

So yeah, best interest of all parties to cut my losses, rehash a little pain and deal with the loss of money then. The dollar i might make a day is hardly worth the potential of harm to my self and i guess someone else.  Roll Eyes

So to recap. Delays, refusals of refunds, the items that you mine with will most likely kill you. Survey says, Black arrow, you da shit Grin!

There seems to be no or very little interest on ebay for X1's.  If I'm lucky I could sell my one fully working unit for about $100 but my other unit throws a ton off errors and I can barely average 75gh/s out of it.  The dodgy unit didn't even work when I got it but I was able to get it hashing after pulling it apart and reseating the cables and hash board.  Bottom line is these things are junk and I don't feel comfortable selling them.

If your rating is 100% like mine I wouldn't want it ruined by selling BA's shit to a buyer and like you said i've been watching the pricing your correct on the $100 which may seem like something vs nothing to some but with all the risk you take now with hazards involved and your rating being harmed that $100 looks a lot like nothing to me .

Not cray concerned about my rating really, i hate to give ba any credit at all but so far my x1s have been okay. I can't get the stupid lcds to display the stats but meh. The lcd would have been cool if they came out in feb, coming out as late as they did, the lcd is like a bad joke more than anything when you think ANY time spent was devoted to that but yeah. So far they have worked as advertised. Pulled down my listings, i did have 6 watchers on them, which is a bit compared to my past ebay history with items that have sold. I felt pretty confident i coulda sold them but i would lose sleep if i sold someone something that killed them. Fuckin conscience

It's the Bitfury Boards all over again.  Anyone else having major deja vu?

Here's how it will play out based on the past, they will identify the problem, which is something they did wrong.  They will find someone who can fix it in your home country, all you have to do is pay to send it to them and back.  And the missed mining time, well you have been waiting thing long haven't ya?  Whats a few more weeks gonna do?

You are no longer shipping X3's??  Said as if you were actually shipping them to begin with.  Oh no, the 2 X3's that were supposed to go out today won't make it out the door, looks like another month or two back in our data center for "stress testing".

& the Drillbit fiasco  Roll Eyes    Amazing..........it appears BFL wasn't the only one to not "learn" from their past "endeavors"  Shocked

it is absolutely bullshit.

so they had this cap that shouldn't have been on the BOM, but was.

and if they're not supposedly doing anything, why was there enough load on them to blow them and start a fire.

these guys are fucked.  these caps are likely indicative of another problem.  just putting bigger/different caps in the system doesn't solve the underlying issue of whatever caused these to fail.

are we supposed to believe that they over-rated every other part BUT the caps so we'll be fine as soon as they upgrade the caps?

BS.  this is more likely a design flaw that goes well beyond the caps.

Feel free to provide better design if you are so proficient, with analysis and free time. Why don't you get one and fix the issue? I love the people that can discuss a lot of things throw crap and stuff but cannot even make their home PC work.
Issue points only at one thing, that it has to be investigated beyond someone pointing a finger and saying "LOOK a problem!", it's like playing captain obvious.
Hope future of the technology does not depend on such people, that are able to make analysis and conclusions based on who knows what.

Good luck anyway.

Why would simonbecoinin fix and provide better design? Its not his job, its yours at BA. Take responsibillity once and stop with making lame excuses.

P.s.
And he did not concluded anything, he think its most likely design flaw.

Edit
Reading trough your previous post I concluded you work for BA. Are you? Andbyou forgot to remove the caps from the BOM because you were pressed by customers. So again, its not BA fault, its ours - customers.

Hey, go easy guys, or you'll make all of BA's engineers cry again with your harsh criticism. Then the salt in their tears will degrade the boards they ship, decreasing their performance or possibly even making them explode even more.

And it will be all our fault for making them cry.

All. Our. Fault.
