They are not Chinese.  If it isn't apparent, Black Arrow appears to be one or more Romanians who live in the UK.  They pay Chinese companies to build their equipment for them. 

 

I believe they ceased production at their previous factory because the company they contracted out was very slow, and probably because they ran out of money.

 

They found a new production company that can produce all the miners in three days, but I don't think they are producing anything, because they are out of money.  (It would be obvious if they were, because in three days, they'd be done.  Since that hasn't happened, you can figure out the rest.)

 

I believe that they are looking for some kind of third party investor who will provide the necessary cash to complete production.

 

In the meantime, they may be producing units themselves, slowly for lack of anything better to do.

 

I believe the company is broke.  They may be mining with some X3's to get enough cash to keep the lights on and pay people, and maybe finish a miner here or there by hand.  But at this stage, it sounds as though they are just broke and looking for new investors.

 

I would like to think differently, but when I ask about their financial situation and why they are unable to do certain things, their lack of answers indicates they are broke.  No denials.  No proof of any kid. 

 

I think if anyone looks at this with a clear head, you have a company that hasn't made a sale in over half a year, trying to pay people to build these miners.  It's game over.

 

Sure, they MIGHT find an investor.  But this generation of miners are worthless unless Bitcoin goes to a thousand dollars a coin, but every difficulty increase that clicks by, no matter how small, shows us that the machines will be that much pointless to produce and ship out.

 

It's a terrible situation to be sure.  They took a lot of people's money, including mine, and gave them nothing in return.  Being broke, they have no way to fix it.  It'll come down to lawsuits and legal action before too long, because they won't be able to prove to any investigating body that they can make good on the contracts they agreed to.  They are screwed.  The only hope is some kind of angel investor, but I really don't see how one would step into this mess and waste money trying to fix it.  Not unless they got complete control of the "company" and all of its IP. 

 

I wish Black Arrow luck in trying to sort this mess out.  But the whole thing is a wash as far as I see it.  Pretty soon I'll be able to get 2th for less than what it'll cost BA to ship me my units.

Honest to god if it weren't for all the scamming and dishonesty from EVERY SINGLE investment I've made with bitcoin hardware and services, I would be pretty close to being a millionaire. Sadly and regrettably I am not. In all I have made a few quid over the years but it's absolute pittance to what I could have in my savings account right now. I'm out. BA you are the final straw.

My sentiment exactly.  I will only buy from bitmain or fried cat from now on.  Every one else has burned me, lied, decieved, disappeared etc.  Black Arrow was supposed to be a trusted manufacturer and minersource a reputable dealer blah blah.  No more trust except for those who have earned it repeatedly over many delivery cycles.

  It's a wise move, but the entire exercise is to take a risk.  You risked money here because there were various choices KNC, BFL, Black Arrow, and you chose the one you thought would pay off the fastest and earn you the most money.  If you only go with the safest option, such as Bitmain, you might not get burned, but your profit potential is seriously diminished.  It's a risk vs reward thing.  This time the reward wasn't there.  But if you were one of those people who risked your money on that first batch of Avalon's.  Different story... 

Just buy coins and wait.  In some years when the halving happens again, they are going to be worth some serious money.

But there has to be some not-so-fucking-dumb-that-they-cant-even-manage-to-answer-a-fucking-simple-question-as-in "where are my LCD displays?" ....

When the cops come knocking on your door charging you with money laundering and chrimes related to theft? ... cause your so called "management" wont take the hit. Thats for damn sure. 08 Sept 2014: X3 Power supply recall

There have been reports that some X3s are failing. We have located this problem to be caused by the power supply.
Please note that this power supply is not manufactured by Black Arrow and has been purchased from a company in Shenzhen which sold it to us as CE certified.

After thorough investigations the power supply company has reached the conclusion that there are 3 major issues in this PSU and any PSU can fail at any time and it not safe to use. They have currently fixed the issues and are currently testing them.

Please stop using all X3s immediately!

We are recalling the X3 power supplies. Please do not ship your X3 unit or X3 Power supply back to us right now. We will contact the X3 customers later this week with more instructions on how to arrange shipping. If you have an X3 and have not received an email from us this week please contact our customer support immediately.

According to Nemesidis, this has now changed to

Please send not working ones for replacement, include ticket number as RMA number.

Unfortunately we cannot replace something that is sitting at your place, we need to receive it, file it and find a cause. After that, replacements will be issued. We are unable to replace units or parts, without receiving ones that has problems back. Please note that if found working, or mechanically damaged, additional charges can be applied for replacement and testing of such parts.

1) Recall all PSUs and tell people to unplug and RMA them.
2) If any of the PSUs actually does work, charge customers an additional fee for testing and replacement.
3) PROFIT!!!
