I forgot to mention Octo-Chance. Someone, or maybe plural, has made some large investments! That's awesome, because the more invested, it allows for higher maximum bets! More updates to the game's software are on their way, mostly feature enhancements and some tweaks, and some graphical spiffing-up later on once it's "finished". It doesn't really look like much right now, but form follows function and it's pretty darn functional, lots of attention has been paid to stability and bookkeeping reliability. Play and invest with confidence!

I don't remember if I explained the invest/divest scheme already, so I'll give a brief rundown. It's proportional, say Bob invests 5k, and John invests 5k, making the total amount invested 10k, Bob and John each own 50% of the profits (and a tiny portion to the house, I think .1%, will double check). Absolutely no commitment, you may divest and withdraw anytime you wish. I didn't set this up with the notion of getting rich off of it, but it wouldn't kill me to make a few bucks, lol. I think I only have 200 Octos invested, but our total as of now is over 27k! That makes way for the high rollers to come try their luck!

When it gains more popularity I'd like to incorporate a faucet as well, to give people a chance to try it out for free.

We're at 68MH now! Yay!

Hadn't looked at the pool until just now. Woke up with a benadryl hangover and its taken about 4 hours to shake it off, so time for work...

Later this week, we are hoping to have a few more updates for you guys in addition to the (optional) upgrade to the OctoCoin clients (minor bugfixes and tweaks), paper wallet generator, and (finally) the new-and-improved Reddit Tip Bot. I realize none of this is mind-bogglingly exciting but they represent important pieces of the groundwork for any coin. We need all of our ducks in a row before pushing forward to the next level.

We have had over 80,000 OctoCoin client downloads at octocoin.org since launch and, while surely a number of those are repeats and/or people just downloading the latest client, that is a significant number. Appreciate your patience while we slowly gear up for what's ahead - hopefully we have allowed ample time for OctoCoin distribution.

We have lost a 2nd member of the OctoCoin team, unfortunately, due to their recent employment shift. Luckily, this comes at the same time as more of the team is managing to free up time to dedicate to OctoCoin (including myself). This also means additional funding being freed up for our upcoming marketing campaign. We're hoping to get everybody back at some point but we certainly understand the difficulty involved with travel, working a full-time job, and working in the startup world on the side - the reduction in overhead and simplification of project management may prove to be a positive in the short-term.

Obviously a ways down the road, but we are planning an OctoCoin anniversary party open to the entire community for March 2015 in Las Vegas. I assure you this will seem a lot more exciting when we're further along in the project but just wanted to make the (pre)announcement as we're certainly excited to meet as many of you as possible. The details of the party have not been finalized in any capacity and there is a lot of work to do in the meantime.

Vegas! Hell Yes!!! Have to find a casino to do a little poker tournament for us...  They'll do it if you have a guaranteed number of entries where they can afford to pay the dealer(s) for their time.

There used to be a yearly poker blogger's gathering in Vegas and they always had a tournament. Always wanted to go down there for it and just when I had cleared my schedule for it, they quit having it.
