I have a whole bunch of one-liners like that for XMG and I really wanted to enter that slogan competition, but figured that it would be kinder to let others have a chance of winning

Definitely agree that we need to have a look at an entire collection of suggestions for the currency symbol and vote on it

I don't think it's necessary to make it a contest, we don't need many different designs, few styles will do, nearly having options: vertical / horizontal bars etc. Voting will happen in bitcointalk, with a new thread.

edit, regarding deadline, I'd prefer a long-term vote, or decision by a poll based on a reasonably large amount of votes! We can push out few styles, let me people vote, when new people come to us, let them see it and vote, that mostly takes time, also if something else comes up, adding to the poll. Currency symbol is not something urgent, nor we need it for anything in the near future. For practical use, we can simply pick the one with the most votes.

I did have a think about rules for this. Cross-platform compatibility is a must, thus:-

1) The character must be rendered using HTML and CSS (or inline STYLE) as required. A blown-up image from a screen grab will be fine for judging purposes, but the method by which it is rendered must be declared if voted the winner.

2) Only "Web-safe" fonts may be used http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/css_websafe_fonts.asp

The deadline would have to be 09:30 GMT on 20th March 2015. If you do not know why now, you will by then.

However, I am not making any rules nor setting the deadline, so that is only a suggestion.
