News: Due to a wallet-migration bug, you should not upgrade Bitcoin Core. But if you already did, there's no need to downgrade.

'Bakkt launch' is the new 'ETF approved'. By the time it launches, LoyceV's prediction will be the bottom again.

Maybe, Then it Will be the end of 2019 price, I never rule out any price with BTC, but Loyce’s price is a high one to reach by years end....

https://medium.com/bakkt-blog/putting-bakks-bitcoin-futures-to-the-test-47e381b7dda1

Test phase beginning on July 22.

"On July 22, two days after Apollo 11’s 50th anniversary, Bakkt will initiate user acceptance testing for its bitcoin futures listed and traded at ICE Futures U.S. and cleared at ICE Clear US," White said, in the astronaut-themed post.
...
Both contracts will see a minimum price fluctuation of $2.50 per bitcoin (with each contract containing one bitcoin). Trades may be executed at $0.01 per bitcoin, with a listing cycle that can last for as long as 12 months (for the monthly contract) or 70 consecutive eligible contract dates (for the daily contract)."

This is just a rehash of their last post, with astronaut metaphors thrown in. Roll Eyes

There's no statement about the actual launch. User testing could last forever if they don't really have the CFTC's good graces. It still feels like they are stringing us along.....

Heh, yeah, commented on the other post in press section. Whatever it is you want to think about these bakkt guys, they seem to have hired some really proper news guy, smacks so much of the kind of pr you see with traditional corporates. But why am I surprised, right?

A little curious though to know who their test users would be. Pimply faced interns at fund managements doing outsourced work for bigger funds owned by people who'll never touch a Bitcoin wallet in their lives, probably.

hmmm, I think your price has been already busted and it is Globb0 the current winner:

9001    ChinkyEyes
9200    Globb0
9850    cryptofrka

Sorry, but anyways it seems probable that there will be more bustings before end date.

How come the Bakkt website does not list their address? And the domain name bakkt.com is less than a year old:

looks like BAKKT won't be the first to offer physically settled futures. the CFTC just gave ledgerX the green light, and they are planning to launch the markets in july: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-06-25/retail-derivatives-that-pay-out-with-bitcoins-approved-by-cftc

meanwhile BAKKT is still waiting for the NYDFS to license its warehouse. ETA unknown.....

If I remember rightly LedgerX was one of the countless things that was going to 'save' us what seems like years ago now. Then we never heard of it again. Is this super radical or just a variation on what they've been quietly offering for quite some time?

What did we need "saving" from? Smiley

They were granted DCO and SEF registration by the CFTC in July 2017. The price went parabolic shortly afterwards, although it was probably just one provider of hype especially when compared to Segwit activation.

I've heard LedgerX's volumes have been increasing considerably over time but I can't seem to find data anywhere. Either way, I think futures/forwards are a much bigger deal and will see much higher demand than the options and swaps markets they already offer.

An unacceptably low price of course.

There've been several things that were hyped up as game changers and then completely disappeared on arrival. LedgerX was one of them. The latest one was probably the S10 crypto wallet.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to "non-custodial"

Vaporware, but Bitcoin, the honey badger, could give two shits about them.

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

1) Self-Custody is a right.  Resist being labelled as: "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k
