Are you guys still going to offer more hash to your customers, as you discussed from day 1, to make sure they profit?
Was this a promise? I must have missed this somewhere as to my knowledge they have not offered any sort of guarantee. If you have a link to where this is discussed could you please share it? I know they offer this: All pre-orders are guaranteed to be protected against any price decrease. If at any time, during the pre-order period, we drop the price under what you have already paid, you will be compensated by receiving more X-3 mining machines. Edit: Oops... you beat me to it, I took wayyyy too long to click 'submit'

Myself along with some others, at the very very very beginning, discussed this when we were talking about resales and becoming a US retailer. It was explained that, as that last quote said, it meant literally that you would receive additional hashpower at no cost, if you would not make a profit over your investment based in USD. For first time buyers, I believe it was like $240 for an X1. They are relying on BTC value increasing so that in 45 days time (the window they gave us), you would get more than $240 back. Just curious if this was still the case.

Had nothing to do with delays or making sure their customers reach positive roi but instead to insure that anyone preordering would receive the best deal they offered if they decided to lower prices which they haven't.

I was planning picking my up at the factory the 24. of February. But with the news in this thread I am not sure booking a ticket is such a good idea.
And you booked your Chinese visa 2 months in advance then? (Can't get in without one ;-) )

Maybe that was the case, I just know that it was expressed to myself and some others that it was regarding profiting, because the difficulty level 7-8 months down the road was vastly unknown. Folks didn't want to buy in to something which wouldn't make a dime, so they said you would get free hashpower (or discounted hashpower) if the system can't provide ROI+Profit within 45 days of receipt. I was the first person they contacted to be a US retailer but ended up passing. It was during those discussions that this was expressed, through email but also on here. Somewhere in the first 30 pages I think.

Black Arrow Ltd are actively monitoring the market to remain competitive and are seeking to become a major player in this field. They are currently offering an attractive offer: customers placing orders now will be protected against any price decrease prior delivery on the original price tag by being offered a proportional increase in hashing power at no extra charge. The sales model on the new line is attractive to their first customers who are guaranteed to receive a much improved deal.
Is that what you're speaking about? There was never an equivalent of Hash Fast's miner protection plan. The only mention of "45 days" in the first 30 pages was on page 19, 26, and 27. They were in reference to some paypal 45 day window.

No reflection on the mods/spokespeople of BA. I get that they can only release information that they're told they can release.
People deserve an answer after literally weeks of asking. People thinking about buying should also have the most up to date info that actually exists. Not the information that is supposedly available, but what actually exists.
I love how people (both customers and potential customers) keep giving these guys business advice. Something doesn't seem right here. It's unfortunate things are this way, but generalized and vague updates are all any of us are probably going to get. Combine an extremely poor customer service model with a burgeoning (and possibly ill-fated) industry and this is the result. I gave up on BA a month ago for this reason, and it looks like nothing has changed, even though it was 'promised' there would be major updates this month. Meanwhile, the difficulty just keeps rising.

I'm definitely working on a status update. I'm the guy on facebook, in the ticket system, here, and on ecointalk. It's hard for me to keep up with all of these different places where people often times ask the same or similar questions.
I should have an update soon.
I will look into my PM's here too.

So assuming BA taped out on Jan 3, 49 days after that would be Feb 21. Hopefully this is really the case. Considering cointerra only got ~1,6 th/s from their chips, will BA have the same problem?

In retrospect, Cointerra was pretty aggresive. 128GHs per die, 4 dies in a package? I think they'll get there eventually, but I think BlackArrow actually took the right approach by going a bit slower and a bit more parallel. They may be late, but I bet we'll get pretty close to what they advertised.

Yeah, cointerra is the best out there for giving updates. Blackarrow should model after them. Cointerra has not shipped yet right?

That would be nice! I'm pretty much "all in" with BA right now. I'm not freaking out yet, but definitely starting to stress a little.
