Late entry for rebuys is a no brainer. That will work. For what that's worth.
Without blocking IPs and disallowing tor (not even possible?) I don't see a solution for regular tourneys. In that case if you want late entry you just have to deal with the reality it's a rebuy for shadow accounts.
1) bust-out IP block is a easy way to cut down. Many players use VPN though. 2) I would imagine a savvy degenerate (that busts in the first 1 or 2 levels) may find their way back in. This may be something we must accept (from a player perspective I think its a great thing if a guy that just fired off the stack in level 1 re-enters) if we want to provide the utility to players that just missed the starting time and want action. I think that utility far outweighs the unfairness of someone possibly re-entering.

Late registration will make possible for Seals offer higher gtd., that's a good thing. It is very difficult to create larger MTT with 5% rake. Mistakes are costly (Saturday 4.2K gtd had more than 1 K overlay last week) and take long time to recover. Sry MIKON

I don't known that having some fish, who busts in the first or second level, relog, rebuy and add to the prizepool is necessarily a bad thing. Just don't make the late reg retarded long.

like pokerstars in majors with 180-min latereg I think ~15 minutes would be optimal (and I think micon had similar intentions because this allows the people who turn on their computer a few minutes too late for a tourney still to enter). And the percentage of people who bust in the first blind level (or maybe the second) should be really negliglibe.

Why not add re-entry for 15 minutes as well?

Are you people seriously concerned about "multi accounters" who only play on one name at a time? You are afraid to play against people who are too stupid to cheat correctly?

Micon how do respond to some of the rumors floating around that your site is rigged to produce dramatic play scenarios to increase rake potential?

Oh, just some more information on this guy. Lately he's been hanging around the Stratosphere and the V playing low limit games, and he keeps part of his money in his sock (LOL). He's been doing shady things on the internet for the last decade. He's been banned from part time poker, 2+2, AVP, numerous other forums. Did a lot of e-begging on the forums, and scammed some people as well (I know for a fact he's lied about how well he's done when given a stake in a cash game).

Haha. This is a good/funny point. I don't really have any fear per se. I just like to have all information available to me for all the decisions I make. Including what games I play, and how I treat the players at the table. IF the site adds things like late reg I am for talking about what that means.

I understand what you're saying, but you guys are seeing monsters under the bed. The equity that you stand to lose by people potentially busting out and entering under a different screen name is very very small compared to the equity that you stand to gain from extended registration times (assuming a majority of the tournaments are non-overlayed). It's just funny to see people pearl clutching over a hypothetical pseudo multi accounting potential (which maybe .5% of the players on the site would have the ability to turn into a +ev endeavor)...but nobody seems to give a shit about ACTUAL MTT multi accounting.
