Is it safe to still use SwC for poker? Yes. I'm not sure if this sealsdeals is run by the same people No. I just want to play poker but am getting the feeling SwC is shady? No.

Not sure what all this stuff about bets and sealsdeals is, but one question:
Is it safe to still use SwC for poker? I'm not sure if this sealsdeals is run by the same people, I just want to play poker but am getting the feeling SwC is shady?
Please let me know.
SealsDeals is a 3rd party site that has a bot in lobby chat with the username: bet SwC itself has had no issues the past few days and is safe to play. SwC is run by poker players put out of work from Black Friday. We are a growing organization that has startup-like pains occasionally, but we have a 2+ year history of keeping the coins safe and processing withdraws in ~12 hours. This thread and our 2+2 thread serve as an open book of how we have operated since inception. Certainly there is risk in all things BTC at this point, but IMO SwC has been a pillar of transparency and proper operation.

It's hard to know who to trust these days. I play on SwC often but saw some chatter and wanted to see what was up.

Now we know if we choose to use SealsDeals, they may simply without any technical reason take the site offline and hold our coins arbitrarily. Yes. In a Bitcoin world, you really only get one chance to be trusted, and they blew it. I can put up with all manner of technical screw-ups and inadvertent problems when they don't impact trustworthiness. Deliberately holding coins hostage out of spite, though, even for a few hours, is completely beyond the pale.

Last two days the seals client on desktop disconnects every 10-15 seconds, rendering play impossible.
On my android tab, only slightly better. Extreme lag, lost 2 chips this morning to lag and not being able to see what was happening. Helps?
Edit: I am using the new android client and the lastest desktop client for GNU/Linux.
I will now head to a coffee shop to verify that the problem isn't my home network (although other network services are fine so I don't suspect this.)

Went to local coffee shop, all was working fine there. Yet back at home connecting to seals is still unusable. This just started a few days ago. I don't know what's going on. Can any devs at seals help?

Are you using the browser version or the desktop version or the mobile version? And if so which OS are you running it on?

As mentioned just above, I use the android version and the desktop version for GNU/Linux. FWIW I also gave a try with the flash version in the browser. All is terrible from my house. Further update: I'm pretty sure this has something to do with the way my ISP is routing traffic. In the last few days I can't stream any audio/video without having the connection reset. I am getting rid of this ISP (Clear) as soon as possible.

This is Ender's real life name / contact information. This has been verified by multiple people (ask around.. it'll check out). Though the phone # information is from a while ago so I have no clue if that's still valid. So if he takes anyone's coins or anyone's unhappy with him.. you know where to look

And btw, it's kind of unprofessional that SWC allows SD to operate if they're going to pull stunts like that.
The fact that bet has special access to the site (like being able to send people popups, white chat, other functions) would lead new players to believe that it's something SWC offers.

1) IMO remove his contact info, he didn't do anything to deserve that 2) chat msging functionality & chat color is the only special thing bet bot has. It is unfortunate what Ender did, but we have since talked and I'm confident he won't do anything like that again. 3) A stronger disclaimer is likely needed. 4) I think my record states how pissed off I was about this, yet I don't see a reason to dox him. Please reconsider your actions, let's get this moving in a positive direction. 5) SealsDeals competitors were already close before this, a few are trying very hard to come to market. If something is really cool, I'm confident ST6 will also all it in chat too.

It really was as gox likes to say an inconvenience more then anything else. Staking system and commands are really easy to use and bet has pretty flawless history paying out. If there is a hitch in stake payout always makes it right. Ender did apologize. I would like to see the constant gambling in lobby moved somewhere else maybe that is were people are getting the misconception bet is affiliated with seals. Anyway letting bygones be bygones hope chairman uses bet going forward has staked me in a couple of Saturday 5ks would rather be staked by players then not.
